Job Summary

The Sr Creator Development Manager is a highly collaborative and fast-paced role that will report to the Senior Director of Social Fundraising to create and execute the American Cancer Society’s plan creator strategy to raise dollars, raise awareness, and create impact through the broader creator economy. This role will lead the efforts to identify creator opportunities across all platforms, channels, and content types; engage those creators and their audiences in the mission of the American Cancer Society to achieve key strategic goals for the organization. This role is a key part of the American Cancer Society’s revenue and audience diversification efforts, aligning with the organization’s strategic objectives.

This role will be responsible for the creation and execution of the integrated strategy for creator-based fundraising, which will include a target fundraising goal, a target reach goal, and a target engagement goal. Existing platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, Facebook and others will be used to achieve these goals. But, the role will always need to have an eye to the horizon and be eager and active in engaging new platforms as they appear.

This role will be responsible for managing key creator and audience relationships that are generated through this work, with a focus on short term success leading to long-term cultivation. The role be responsible maintaining a pipeline of leads to ensure the long-term success of the organization’s creator strategy.

Major Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Create creator-based fundraising activations that meet the unique needs of each creator audience.
  • Evaluate the efficacy of those activations and iterate on them to improve them in successive activations.
  • Lead time-based activations throughout the year to grow the reach and engagement of the ACS in the creator economy.
  • Create and own an identification and recruitment process for new creator and community prospects.
  • Identify and engage key industry partners to amplify the reach and value of our creator activations.
  • Strategize on new and innovative ways to engage creators while owning KPIs related to existing creator work.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to adjust existing strategies and tactics and develop new opportunities.
  • Work with internal ACS Development partners to share opportunities to create organization success.
  • Be an advocate for creator-based efforts with peers and across the organization.

Relationship Management

  • Easily and quickly builds relationships and trust with internal and external partners.
  • Actively involved in the creator economy and can easily engage and communicate with creators and their teams in an authentic way.
  • Work in a nimble, creative way to respond to the needs of creators, platforms and other partners.
  • Able to quickly and accurately evaluate the brand match of any creator or audience.
  • Understand and adhere to internal approval and asset creation pipelines to not overburden internal resources.

Brand and Impact

  • Ensure that creators and their communities have training and access to the content that they need to correctly share the ACS mission and brand.
  • Work with creators and their communities to create positive organic social impressions for the ACS.
  • Collaborate with internal creative and content partners on assets that are valuable to creator and community partners.
  • Monitor that our work engages and reaches a diverse and inclusive supporter base.

Operations

  • Create a target revenue and expense budget with the SD of Social Fundraising, and own the maintenance and projections for that living document.
  • Comfortable with reviewing, negotiating and maintain contracted agreements with a variety of partners.
  • Works with internal and external creative partners to scope, develop and produce best-in-class event merchandise and other collateral.
  • Able to create and share clean and concise reporting about the on-going results of their work.
  • Able to plan online and in-person events with a specific budget and target attendance list.
  • Share learnings and knowledge with internal partners to benefit organizational growth.

Position Requirements

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Combined 6+ years of experience in the content creator / influencer / non-profit spaces working with promotional campaigns and events with specific KPIs and budgets.
  • Ability to conceive of the “new and different” and work to make that a reality while navigating unforeseen challenges.
  • Able to work flexible hours as needed to meet the needs of bi-coastal creators.
  • Experience working in a collaborate team environment and balancing multiple work processes and deadlines.
  • Track record of building relationships in a remote / digital environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of the content creator industry and creator economy, and the structures and tools that are required to be successful in this space.

SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR KNOWLEDGE

  • Complete proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, VISIO, experience using Adobe Photoshop.
  • Able to work in content creation platforms and familiar with their creation pipelines. Key platforms include YouTube, TikTok, Twitch. Working understanding of OBS.
  • Familiar with technology, customer engagement, CRM, market intelligence, planning, and digital marketing at scale across Cloud, Mobile and e-Commerce.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in working with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, PowerBI, Tableau, Datorama, etc.
  • Working knowledge of SEO and UX principles.
  • Knowledge of Project Management and Product Management principles and best practices.

Other Skills

  • Handles multiple parallel tasks easily within a broad range of software tools.
  • Comfortable presenting to members of leadership, public figures and high-value partners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; public speaking skills; understand difficult verbal and written instructions; understand data processing applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Requires general knowledge of marketing, communication, and account management.
  • Authors compelling presentations and emails to engage audiences and cultivate them long-term for the American Cancer Society.
  • Accurately shares the ACS story and brand-approved talking points.
  • Inspires others to support the American Cancer Society in person with large or small groups, and via live and pre-recorded A/V channels. Comfortable with audiences ranging from 10 to 10,000.

Special Mental Or Physical Demands

  • Must be able to travel for work.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to perform work in a remote environment.
  • Must be flexible for after hours and weekend work, as required.

The starting rate is $69,500 to $86,900 per year. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
