Assistant Manager, Social Media, Community and Content
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Manager will play a crucial role in creating, cultivating, and growing IGK Hair's best-in-class social media content and community. This position will be responsible for the development, execution, and management of IGK's native social media content and community across multiple platforms, with emphasis on Instagram and TikTok. The Assistant Manager will support day-to-day social media initiatives, creator partner strategies, and campaigns with the goal of establishing IGK Hair as the ultimate hair care authority on social media.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Content Management:
· Oversee and manage IGK Hair's daily social media content across various platforms including TikTok, Instagram, and Instagram Stories.
· Collaborate closely with the Content Senior Manager to coordinate content for Pinterest, Facebook, and YouTube.
· Take responsibility for organizing, scheduling, and posting content across the various social platforms to ensure consistent brand presence.
· Cultivate, save, and repurpose UGC tagged content, influencer content, and stylist content featuring IGK for future use in IGK IG stories and scheduling on the content calendar.
· Maintain a strong pulse on social media trends and quickly capitalize on content opportunities, such as memes and events.
· Develop content franchises and dedicated Instagram highlights for core bestsellers & newness, populating with relevant and educational Instagram Story content.
· Draft scripts/storyboards for daily IG Stories and provide detailed directions for video editors for content requiring advanced animation.
· Partner with the Marketing team on content needs for new launches (8 weeks in advance).
· Provide external partners (i.e., Salon Centric, Sally’s) with proper UGC content for awareness and amplification.
Community Engagement:
· Creating and populating FAQ docs for upcoming launches to assist with proper community management.
· Consistently communicate with Product Development and Marketing teams for audience feedback on products and other issues.
· Conduct competitive reporting on a monthly basis.
· Supervise the communication efforts of the Copywriter and Community Manager,
ensuring brand consistency while staying abreast of trending conversations within the beauty industry.
Influencer Relations:
· Manage all influencer product requests, including placing orders, and devise strategic social media content briefs for new product launches or emerging social trends.
· Maintain a list of potential influencers and trending content and lead monthly meetings with the social team to review and to help plan for upcoming initiatives.
Content Creation & Editing:
· Organize and execute monthly photoshoots for original content creation, including booking influencers/models, locations, and editing content specific to TikTok.
· Conceptualize and produce original videos for specific campaigns like giveaways and product launches, integrating feedback from all departmental stakeholders.
· Design graphics for social media channels, ensuring proficiency Canva or other graphics apps.
· Plan shot list with Content Senior Manager for all brand photoshoots, giving direction to models and talent to create additional content for socials.
· Film in-person at photoshoots, in-salon, and/or events when needed and if possible.
· Edit video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Instagram Stories, including content from founders, stylists, ad agency UGC raw content, and brand-owned content ensuring proficiency in CapCut
QUALIFICATIONS

· 3-5 years of relevant social media management experience
· While prior experience as a content creator isn't required, it's strongly preferred.
· Proficient in video editing and adept at utilizing graphic design platforms for creating compelling social media content.
· Knowledge of performance metrics (and reporting) for TikTok and Instagram
· Prior experience working in the Dash Hudson & Later platforms a plus
· Keen understanding and passion for the beauty industry, across all social media platforms
· Desire to create viral content designed to entertain and educate the IGK social community, to grow significantly follower count on TikTok and Instagram
· Highly organized: Ability to manage multiple projects at once on tight deadlines while still maintaining excellent quality of work and results
· High energy, positive attitude, team player
· Innate hustle, proactive mindset, and insatiable desire to learn
· Excellent copywriting skills
· Genuinely enjoys interacting with the social community and being the pulse of the IGK brand
· Experience working in social media for a hair care brand preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Lifting: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

· Sitting: Must be able to remain in the seated, stationary position throughout workday.
