We are looking for a talented and world class Content Creator / Digital Journalist / Videographer to join our award winning team!

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to join the team as a Content Creator / Digital Journalist / Videographer.

The primary function of this position is to produce, shoot, and edit both short and long-form stories, promotional video pieces, and documentary-style productions in multiple formats for various marketing channels including website, social media and email. This role is specifically tasked with the creation and production of new and existing digital communications initiatives, as well as producing engaging visual content on a daily and/or weekly basis.

The ideal candidate has strategic instincts, knows what’s trending in social media marketing and is motivated by creating impact through content creation and storytelling.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Concept and create compelling brand content by developing, shooting, and editing video to tell the Gilbert story
• Producing long-form content, short-form content for social media platforms, and understands emerging platforms and nimble forms of content creation
• Video production, to include: storyboarding, planning, script-writing, filming, editing, color grading, and proofing videos;
• Set up and capture interviews, scripted and unscripted content, BRoll and events
• Ability to direct designers/video editors in packaging up creative elements included in content packages (imagery, video, GIF, etc.)
• Assist with various marketing and outreach programs online and on multiple social media channels and develop and execute marketing strategy
• Manage the public broadcasting channel by recording and converting digital files for broadcast, and scheduling content for broadcast;
• Creation and distribution of releases and newsletters to media and/or email groups;
• Provide work direction to and reviews the work of temporary and/or contract employees;
• Work under tight deadlines in a highly organized manner
• Research and provide audio and visual support;
• Operate equipment, including mobile phones, cameras, lenses, lighting, microphones, video editing, animation software and drones
• Other duties as assigned
  

In alignment with the Town of Gilbert Remote Work Guideline, this position has been identified as an eligible position for the “Hybrid” remote work category, defined as “Approximately half (50%) of the employees’ time is spent on-site or in the field and half (50%) can be spent working remotely”.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience in journalism, video production and/or film-making
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Film, or Digital Media
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  

Licenses / Certifications

• Valid Arizona driver's license

Physical & Environmental Conditions

• Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
• Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals.
• Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
