Right now, we need a Director of Customer Marketing to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This person will drive, develop, execute, and support the go-to-market strategy for major Pabst brands by working in partnership with the Sales Team, Brand Teams, Consumer Insights, and Commercial Finance. They will continuously evolve the Customer Marketing efforts by measuring and monitoring the effectiveness of the retail strategies through ROI metrics and a robust cycle of review of all implemented strategies. This person will also directly manage the retail activation budget while also providing oversight of sales expenditures related to go-to-market strategies.

What you'll do:
- Lead, coach & develop the Customer Marketing function and team to ensure that Sales has the appropriate Strategy, Category Support and POS material to sell that is “on brand” and creates action / engagement from our customers (retailers & distributors) While ensuring that all Customer Marketing strategies are financially sound, based on syndicated data insights, and are consistent with the overall direction of Pabst.
- Create strategies and supporting documents that are timely, clear, easily digestible, and clearly articulate the compelling reason why our products and recommended programs will connect with shoppers; ultimately ensuring our partners take action to expand distribution and activate our brands in retail.
- Analyze program effecitiveness by determiningthe ROI on all trade related, budget and retail activation efforts; provide a post-campaign effectiveness smmary. Responsible for collecting, understanding, and disseminating comprehensive program recaps to Track and Measure our results further guiding our programming moving forward.
- Through the use of syndicated data, understand Shopper dynamics to provide recommendations to brand, sales and finance leads regarding potential new go-to-market strategies and partnerships. Develop proposals and recommendations that are deeply tied to statistics and financial impact.
- Gather real time imagery of in-store activation on current and past programming to effectively enhance how we invest and deploy trade resources
- Manage the Customer Marketing budget and provide oversight and guidance on the Sales budgets related to program spend.
- Ensure sales materials are readily available, consistent, add value to our customers and are easily digestible to effectively presell innovation and programming 3-12months in advance.
- Work cross functionally with Brand to ensure all POS material, Brand Investments, Retail Activation, E-Commerce messaging and programming is aligned, “On Brand,” and approved via our legal team
- Facilitate and deliver Quarterly Presentations to all of Sales with Brand Leads showcasing all Go-To-Market Strategy and Execution
- Implementation and consistent communication as it relates to Programming, Sell Sheets, POS Material, Rebate Calendar, Sweepstakes Calendar, Scans, Discounts, Distribution Opportunity and Trade Deployment.
- Assist with special projects as needed
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or related field preferred
- 5-7 years Customer Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Category Management and/or Trade Management
- 3+ years of experience in a field sales or retail activation role within the CPG industry
- Previous customer & channel experience considered an asset
- Experience in Beer/Spirits or 3 tier trade information preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, hit timelines consistently and hold cross functional partners accountable for the same.
- Ability to execute best in class executive reports and correspondence
- Proven problem-solving skills – need to be a doer and influencer across the organzaiton
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally & proactively communicate clearly and effectively
- Advanced Financial accumen and analysis capability including ROI analysis
- Solid understanding and demonstrated expertise in the Customer Marketing function
- Solid strategic and execution skills with a track record of delivering strong growth results
- Self-starter with ability to work independently – high sense of urgency and entrepreneurial spirit
- Exceptional project & time management skills
- Strong leadership skills, exceptional collaboration skills and high ability to influence
- Strong and effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation

- Expert level experience using syndicated data (Nielsen, Numerator, IRI)
