Position Summary:
The Content Creator is a critical role in increasing our online presence, driving engagement, and expanding our brand’s reach across various platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and more. You are passionate about the food, home, and lifestyle industry and are familiar with social media trends and creators in those categories. The role is responsible for producing engaging content from start to finish, from lighting and capturing the perfect shot to crafting a compelling narrative in edit - and is not at all shy about being in front of the camera! The role will primarily work out of our new headquarters in the Brooklyn Navy Yard and will report to our Executive Director of Video.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute engaging multimedia content, both in vertical video and photo formats, that aligns with our content briefs, uphold the Food52 and Schoolhouse aesthetics, and fulfills brand partnership requirements
- Work as a “one person band” to produce content from start to finish - from food and product prep as needed, to shooting video and stills, to editing and final delivery
- Engage with our audience as on-camera talent or through voice over
- Be on set during video and photo shoots to capture behind-the-scenes content
- Collaborate with our test kitchen team, shop team, and stylists to identify and execute recipes and highlight products that increase audience engagement
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, content creators, platform updates across IG, Pinterest, and YouTube, and other emerging technologies in the food and home industries
- Special projects as needed or assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 years of social media experience at a media company, e-commerce brand, or agency
- An engaging personality and ability to connect with an audience on-camera and through voice over
- Experience operating DSLR cameras and mastery of basic lighting techniques
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, with a keen eye for design aesthetics and details, as well as in-platform social media editing tools
- Passion for food and lifestyle media, as well as familiarity with social media platforms including IG, Pinterest and YouTube, best practices, analytics, and current trends
- Ability to think like a creator, with a proven track record of identifying trends / virality and capitalizing on it, as well as analyzing metrics to increase performance in real time
- Excitement to work in a scrappy environment, managing shifting priorities and tasks in a timely fashion, while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a positive manner
- Previous experience working with brand partnerships and creating paid content is preferred
- Must be able to provide samples of past work or link to current portfolio
- A degree in media production and/or culinary training preferred
- Bonus points if you have built your own online presence, but this is not a requirement for the role

Compensation & Benefits
For residents of NY, NJ or CT the compensation range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000. Factors used to determine the salary range for a given position may impact what salary within the stated range may be offered to any particular candidate (e.g., years of experience, level of education obtained, etc.).
