The Role
We are currently seeking a dynamic and passionate Community Engagement Manager to spearhead our creator and viewer community initiatives for our exciting social media app. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our community engagement programs, working closely with creators from specific knowledge communities to onboard them to our platform and gather valuable feedback on our product. Your end-to-end ownership of the program will involve designing impactful engagement strategies, conducting outreach, managing interactions, running interviews, and analyzing feedback. As a crucial member of our marketing team, you will foster strong relationships with creators, nurture a vibrant community, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align community efforts with our product and business goals. Responsibilities
- Design and execute community engagement programs: Develop and implement initiatives to engage with Gen Z Creators and Gen Z subscribers of specific communities and onboard them to the social media app.
- Program management: Take ownership of community engagement programs from end to end, including program design, outreach to creators, messaging, managing all interactions, conducting interviews, and gathering feedback.
- Creator relationship management: Foster strong relationships with creators by providing support, addressing concerns, and acting as a liaison between the creators and the company.
- Feedback gathering and analysis: Collect feedback from creators through interviews, surveys, and other feedback mechanisms, and analyze the data to identify trends, insights, and actionable recommendations for improving the product.
- Community building: Nurture an active and vibrant community of creators by facilitating discussions, organizing events or workshops, and fostering collaboration among creators.
- Ideation and implementation of new programs: Brainstorm and develop new initiatives to scale user testing efforts, moving from a small group of testers to a larger pool of participants.
- Reporting and metrics tracking: Monitor and track key performance metrics related to product usage and community engagement programs, provide regular reports on progress, and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with product managers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to align community engagement strategies with the overall product and business goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends: Stay informed about the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in community engagement and social media to continuously enhance the effectiveness of community-facing initiatives.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in managing online communities, preferably within the social media space or tech industry, with a strong understanding of community dynamics, engagement strategies, and best practices.
- Experience working in social media apps and/or community-focused apps tailored for Gen Z.
- Experience working with content creators – bonus points if you are immersed in the Creator network and can leverage your connections, or if you are a content-creator yourself.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage and build relationships with creators, users, and cross-functional teams
- Excellent project management skills and attention to detail. Proven track record in planning, executing, and managing end-to-end community engagement programs, including designing program structures, managing timelines, coordinating outreach efforts, and analyzing program effectiveness.
- Experience in conducting user interviews, surveys, and feedback sessions to gather insights and feedback on product features and user experiences.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Proactive approach to work, with the ability to take ownership of community engagement initiatives, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines independently.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with a fully remote team. Comfortable working in both EST & IST time zones.
