Senior Manager, PR & Communications
OUR ROLE
The Senior Manager, PR & Communications, is responsible for Fiskars PR activities and communications in the North American region.
The role ensures the implementation of our PR and Influencer strategy and leads our PR and Influencer activities in the region to drive our global brand goals regionally, with an emphasis on strategic influencer collaborations and relevant media. This role also translates global commercial concepts into US-specific social activations as applicable.
This position reports to our Director, Global PR and Communications, Fiskars. The role is full time and can be remote or hybrid.

The PR & Communications Manager is responsible for our PR activities in the North American region.
In close collaboration with the Business and Offering teams, this role is responsible for the implementation of our PR and Influencer strategy. They lead our PR and Influencer activities in the region with an emphasis on developing strategic influencer collaborations and relevant media partnerships.
To succeed in this role, you need excellent project management skills. Managing a complex network of both in-house as well as external collaborators, you need to be able to efficiently communicate our Fiskars brand ambition and create inspiring stories and efficient concepts that promote our brand goals and support our growth targets within the North American market but also globally.
You have a strong understanding of the role of earned media in supporting brand and business growth, while possessing a true passion for the ever-changing media landscape. You will build our brand’s global and regional awareness and preference, and strongly contribute to sales by impacting consumers with editorial content in both traditional and online media, social media and via influencers and brand partnerships.
You will lead and develop our PR agency network in the region. You will also guide and coordinate the region’s influencer collaborations and product placement activities.
You are responsible for guiding and coordinating of all our PR activities and campaigns in the region, ensuring brand consistency, relevant messaging, and excellence in execution. This includes creating PR activities calendars, guiding the localization of global PR concepts and materials, identifying local opportunities and pursuing them, and strategically supporting the region’s PR agencies. You will be in charge of the region’s PR targets and reporting and analyzing the results. You will proactively pitch brand and product stories to key editors, and respond to reactive press inquiries, providing product information as needed. You will seed product to set designers, stylists and television producers for tool inclusion to build brand awareness. You will serve as the US brand spokesperson for relevant media stories and press opportunities.
We are looking for a curious, creative and collaborative mind with a passion for storytelling. You understand and work fluently with a network of agencies, the media and PR agencies, and you know how to nurture meaningful relationships with strategically selected influencers
Ideally, you already have a strong and relevant network, and you work systematically to strengthen it even further. You enjoy working with people and are sensitive to the cultural aspects that come with working with an international scope. You constantly seek opportunities to bring trends, phenomena, and partnerships into action
Occasional domestic and international travel (10% or less) within the US and to Europe may be required; this is to be agreed on a case-by-case basis.

Education:
- Required: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as communications, marketing, or similar
- Preferred: A Master’s degree in communications, marketing or other related field
Experience & knowledge:
- At least 7-9 years of experience in public relations, communications, and/or marketing communications
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience in working with (premium consumer) brands in an international business, in a communications and marketing environment
- Understanding of the current media landscape and a proactive approach to developing strategies and tactics in a way that drive brand goals
- Experience in developing, maintaining and measuring efficient Influencer and brand partner collaborations
- Experience in producing impactful PR and influencer events; experience in virtual events an asset
- Experience in guiding and creating holistic PR executions that include creative social media activations
- Solid understanding of the North American market environment and specific requirements
- Ability to take full responsibility of the given role, working independently but in collaborative manner
- Excellent writing, presentation and networking skills
- Language skills: fluency in English in speaking and writing required
