Vice President – Marketing:

As an executive of the Perifery Business Unit and reporting to the General Manager/COO, the Vice President – Marketing will be responsible for accelerating growth globally for the Perifery business unit by developing and executing marketing strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and objectives. This role will drive the end-to-end go-to-market demand generation strategy by leading product and solution marketing, field and partner marketing, segment marketing, content, brand, digital, and corporate communications.

This position will work in a collaborative and fast-paced, high-energy, and value-driven environment and require an experienced professional with exemplary communications skills, the ability to think outside the box, and an outstanding leadership presence.

Duties:

  • Leads the strategic direction of all Perifery products world-wide including the company’s appliance product
  • Develop and implement global and customer-led marketing strategies in focused industry verticals
  • Identify and launch digital demand generation, ABM, and marketing campaigns that drive best practices and consistency
  • Develop a brand strategy for Perifery in focused verticals that drives awareness and compelling messaging while aligning with current and future needs
  • Achieve social marketing by leveraging digital techniques (including web, SEO/SEM, email, social media, and display advertising) to generate leads within new segments and expansion opportunities within existing accounts
  • Identify, market to, build relationships with, and train channel partners, distributors, and resellers to maximize revenue growth
  • Lead field marketing activities such as events (NAB, Bio-IT, KubeCON, etc), channel partner meet-ups, and partner sales events
  • Lead marketing operations from demand generation to sales-qualified pipeline
  • Drive a discipline to gain, utilize, and socialize customer feedback to identify organizational requirements and behaviors that fuel profitable growth
  • Drive globally coordinated programs utilizing executive communications, industry analyst relations, influencer relations, public relations, and internal communications; drive that narrative and storytelling on overall company strategy, and transformation in a compelling and inspiring way
  • Constantly assess and adjust the relative performance of the function vs external emerging best practices
  • Develop consistent marketing processes and systems globally
  • Enhance performance orientation by setting and measuring performance targets that are aligned with business outcomes
  • Identify and improve processes that can be automated, utilize AI, or streamlined to enable scale, competitive advantage, and improve the customer experience
  • Create close relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Manage external agencies and relationships with marketing services to achieve global outcomes efficiently
  • Motivate employees around shared vision in line with marketing transformation and focus on growth and development of talent

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Substantial, demonstrated track record in leading a digital/brand/product marketing organization across the globe
  • Proven experience in effectively leading marketing teams globally
  • Experience leading Product Marketing/Partner Marketing
  • Experience marketing to a breadth of customer segments across enterprises and industries including media and entertainment and healthcare
  • Experience leveraging modern B2B marketing tools such as ABM, hyper-personalization, micro-experimentation and agile processes to drive quantifiable outcomes via multi-stage digital journeys
  • Significant experience in pipeline acceleration, customer expansion, and retention
  • Experience leveraging digital best practices on user, developer, and key persona engagement, curation, and activation
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and related technologies (hardware, virtualization, storage, networking)
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills
  • Experience driving positive change in the team via process improvement
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to coach, inspire, and mentor a global team
  • Experience setting goals and focusing on results
  • Understands technical risks/issues and assists with options to resolve/mitigate
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), evangelism, and leadership presence
  • Expert knowledge in key vertical markets, data protection, active archive, media and entertainment, managed service providers, hybrid cloud, and Dev-ops
  • Technical proficiency in core, edge, and cloud infrastructure, containers/Kubernetes, storage, and software – technology, vendor landscape, trends, and use cases
  • Ability and comfort to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment where ambiguity is the norm
  • Successful track record of working with stakeholders at all levels of a company and having strong influencing skills
  • Proven ability to think strategically but dive into details when needed
  • Success working with geographically distributed teams

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Business or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required
  • 15+ years of proven experience building and driving marketing strategy for a storage/software company
  • 10+ years leading a large geographically diverse team
