THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a Multimedia Content Creator, with a diverse set of experiences to make our mission a reality. To put it simply, you will lead the visual storytelling of the YES Prep brand to reach all members of our target audiences. The Multimedia Content Creator is the member of the Communications & Marketing team who is primarily responsible for the creation of video, photography and written content for use on YES Prep web presence and social media channels as well as photographic content for system print publications and other communications. This position plays a vital role in creating content to achieve org goals related to reputation, student and talent recruitment, fundraising and more.
THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:
- Producing and editing videos (concepting, storyboarding, scripting, filming, graphics, music selection, narration services, post-production) showcasing YES Prep schools’ achievements, programs, and activities, which can be shared on YES Prep’s main or school's website, social media platforms, and at events
- Shooting and editing high-quality photos (including news, feature and portrait photography) for use on comms platforms such as the blog, newsletter, social media, systemwide publications and marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, lottery collateral and talent collateral
- Creating short social media videos that showcase the school's unique culture and student experiences
- Recording interviews with students, faculty, and alumni to create testimonials that highlight the school's strengths and successes.
- Documenting special events and achievements, such as graduations and awards ceremonies, for use in future marketing materials and to celebrate the school's accomplishments
- Providing video, photo, and social media coverage of select campus events, which may occur outside of standard office hours
- Organizing and managing the digital video and photographic asset library
- Working with marketing and communications teams to brainstorm and execute new ideas and content for digital media
- Actively participating in cross-collaborative meetings, with the ability to thoughtfully articulate new or improved ideas, strategies and questions

THE MUST HAVES
- Bachelor’s Degree in multimedia design, film, marketing, communications or related degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut, Adobe After Effects
- Knowledge of Lightroom, Photoshop and Adobe Audition
- Knowledge of writing conventions specific to web-based communications
- Proficiency in all aspects of video production, including the operation of cameras, studio and field lighting, and video editing
- Strong understanding of photography principles and photo editing skills
- Ability to quickly incorporate creative direction and feedback into new iterations of content
- Excellent communication, creative and collaboration skills
- High attention to detail, customer-service oriented and deadline driven
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a team-driven environment
- Highly organized, process-driven, self-motivated and able to work independently, taking ownership of and responsibility for work progress
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, especially Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Live-streaming experience is a plus
- Highest standards of design, planning and technical operation to ensure high quality outcomes
- Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends

THE NICE TO HAVES
- Master’s Degree in multimedia design, film, marketing, communications, or other related field from an accredited educational institution
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience with Hootsuite, Google AdWords, Facebook Ads, Google Analytics, and social media analytics, and Canva
- Knowledge of web accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.0)
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and content management systems like Drupal and WordPress

- Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
