Director Social Media
Position Summary
The Director of Social Media is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy with the goal of increasing engagement, brand visibility, awareness, and revenue growth within the social media channels. This role will oversee all aspects of the company’s social media marketing and communication efforts, including strategy, content creation, partnerships, influencers/content creators, paid media, community management, and success measurement. This person will work closely with a number of stakeholders within the marketing team, as well as other internal and external partners (agencies, Product, CX, Sales Development, Data Science, Analytics, PR, HC, etc.), to ensure success aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. This person will demonstrate thought leadership and strategic acumen that contributes to brand awareness growth, increased audience reach, insightful analysis, new customer acquisition and overall campaign performance.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and manage a comprehensive social media strategy, including campaigns, content creation, and platform maintenance, to drive brand awareness and increase engagement.
- Create, plan, and implement social media campaigns aimed at increasing brand awareness and customer engagement.
- Creative ideation development and oversight, including serialized content and cross-platform content.
- Social data analysis, optimization, and monthly reporting.
- Social listening and crisis management across all social platforms.
- Monitor competitor activity and respond to any activity that could harm the brand’s reputation or cause confusion among consumers and customers.
- Create and publish content on multiple platforms, including, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snap Chat, blogs, and other marketing channels.
- Develop content calendars to help plan which posts will be published, when, and what type of content will be posted on each channel.
- Influencer marketing development and oversight, including developing and managing long-term influencer relationships, influencer performance analysis, research, negotiating and contracting.
- Determine most effective platforms to reach the company’s target audiences.
- Work with designers to create visual materials (info graphics, videos, illustrations, etc.) for use in social media channels.
- Coordinate with other departments within the organization to ensure that the company’s social media presence is consistent across all channels.
- Identify and leverage emerging social media trends and recommend adjustments or new campaigns to meet changing consumer needs.
Education
- Bachelor's degree with a creative, TV & film, or writing emphasis
Experience
- 10+ years social media agency experience.
- 7+ years video and design experience

- Experience working across different teams to inform and produce content
- Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation creation skills

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a high energy environment
- 5+ years of managerial experience, including hiring, developing, and motivating a social media and content team to perform at the highest level
- A strong attention to detail in both written and visual contexts and an “always on” sense of urgency
- Detailed orientated and able to make strategic decisions based on data
- Working Knowledge of industry standard tools
