Account Supervisor, Maverick Creative
Location: New York, NY – Hybrid
Maverick Creative is hiring! Our dynamic team seeks a creative and passionate Account Supervisor candidate with a diverse skill set that spans strategic communications, media relations and social media.
Work Location= NYC metro area. We are seeking candidates who wish to work a hybrid schedule of WFH and two days per week in the NYC offices/in-person.
Anticipated Salary: $75-90K.; salary commensurate with experience and depending upon workplace.
Our Ideal Candidate Has
- 4+ years of experience working in communications for lifestyle and/or travel and hospitality clients
- A proven track record for securing coverage for clients in national travel/hospitality/lifestyle media outlets and existing and strong relationships with national travel/hospitality/lifestyle media contacts and influencers
- Leadership skills including a proactive and professional attitude and experience managing, mentoring and training junior staff including empowering junior staff in their managerial presence, as well as managing up to senior staff and partners
- Excellent oral and written communications skills (includes writing skills, editing skills, presentation skills and strong attention to detail)
- Ability to manage workloads effectively across a variety of client accounts
- A passion for creativity and wacky ideas
- Experience running influencer campaigns and social media community management is a plus!
- Experience in global brand communications and strategy is a plus!

The Account Supervisor role is responsible for (but not limited to) the following duties:
MEDIA RELATIONS
- Developing and driving media relations strategy for global travel and lifestyle brands including securing impactful national coverage and arranging interviews for key executives
- Overseeing Senior Account Executives, Account Executives and Assistant Account Executives on media relations outreach and working with them to ensure their pitches are strong, smart and landing coverage; providing recommendations for media outreach pivots based on media feedback, industry landscape shifts, etc.
- Cultivating relationships with national journalists contributing to travel/hospitality/lifestyle, business and trade outlets; coaching Senior Account Executives, Account Executives and Assistant Account Executives on media relationship building tactics
- Identifying industry trends and proactively building creative and strategic pitches to support them while achieving client’s goals
- Developing thoughtful media strategies and approaches around global campaigns to creatively introduce media to these efforts and drive campaign-driven coverage
- Analyzing and leveraging industry data to tell trend-driven and timely stories that position the client as a thought leader
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
- Serving as a primary contact for global travel and lifestyle clients
- Providing strategic counsel to clients as an authority on communications strategy and travel, hospitality and lifestyle trends
- Executing and managing major communications initiatives including PR plans and strategies, brand campaign launches, press trips, media events, media appointments/desksides
- Leading, reviewing and providing feedback on press materials, including press releases, company/executive bios, client briefing documents, face sheets, media alerts, case studies, etc.
- Spearheading client reporting
AGENCY CULTURE
- Leading agency initiatives including trainings, internal workflow processes and team building initiatives and outings
- Being current about news and events surrounding client business (and their competition): read news outlets; know what is happening in their business landscape
- Bringing a creative and entrepreneurial spirit – you like sharing articles about creative campaigns and trying and testing new tools
