Commons is looking for a social media maven to join our marketing team, with expertise in video content creation, social media management, and community building.

As a Social Media Manager and Video Content Creator you will play a critical role in helping us scale Commons’ reach and impact via organic social, primarily focusing on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. You will work cross-functionally with the rest of the growth team to bring to life ideas and content that drive brand awareness and cultivate our community.

About you:

  • You live and breathe all things social and might even have a small following of your own.
  • You are not camera shy and probably have too many videos on your phone that you can easily turn into a viral post.
  • You deeply care about the environment and do your best to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle.
  • You have a finger on the pulse of trends in sustainability, climate change and general lifestyle scene. To succeed in this role, you should be comfortable generating creative ideas and turning them into social-first content.

You will:

  • Ideate, create and manage social media content, including video, text, audio, visual and multimedia formats across social platforms (starting with Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn)
  • Ensure the delivery of successful campaigns while supporting business critical KPIs
  • Track key performance metrics of social media campaigns to maximize results and report progress to management
  • Analyze how effective our content is, while making recommendations for improvement based on data insights and industry trends
  • Engage Customer community with prompt responses, ask questions and cultivate relationships
  • Work cross functionally with Content & Partnerships teams

You should bring:

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in a social media/community facing role
  • First-hand experience developing social media following and measured success owning and impacting a brand’s social channels
  • Proven experience creating and editing content in a high growth environment
  • Desire to work in a rapidly changing, start-up environment that requires both long-term strategic thinking and near-term execution
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to clearly communicate complex topics with the team and external partners
  • Experience with Data Analysis: you know what metrics to look at when deciding what content performs best
  • Passion and interest for the Commons mission and the overall sustainability space
  • Experience with the following platforms:
    • Figma (and/or Adobe Suite and/or Canva)
    • Google Suite (you know and love Excel!)
    • Facebook/Instagram Business Manager
    • TikTok App Editor
    • Video Editing apps
    • Project Management Platforms (Notion, Asana, etc.)
