Director, Brand Strategy & Casting

Collective Voice is looking for a Director to lead our Brand Strategy & Casting team. This role will oversee teams responsible for: client influencer strategy, casting, community growth and campaign performance optimization. The candidate we are looking for is a solution-focused, process-oriented, seasoned client services leader with strong business acumen, and previous experience guiding teams through organizational change. Strong interpersonal skills, a desire to coach and mentor, plus the ability to gain cross-functional buy-in during times of growth and change will be paramount to this candidate's success.

This role will report to the Senior Director of Creator Partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the tone of a collaboration in a team environment. Must be a leader who infuses enthusiasm and energy into the team to drive brand partner success.
  • Oversee two functions including:
    • Brand Strategy & Casting – Responsible for creating strategic influencer activations to drive partner objectives and casting creators to participate in campaigns. This team utilizes a combination of 1st, 2nd and 3rd party data, as well industry expertise to create personalized influencer strategy recommendations and client casting sheets to ensure achievement of our Clients performance KPIs.
    • Creator Development – Leads community growth efforts for campaign-focused influencers by managing the influencer pipeline to suit partner needs, onboarding influencers and influencer agencies for paid campaigns and affiliate opportunities and manages the new-to-us creator onboarding process.
  • Drive continuous process improvement, through consistent analysis and optimization of existing processes and the implementation of new processes and systems in accordance with the needs of the business. Ensure process adoption & accountability cross-functionally.
  • Motivate team members, cultivate learning and growth while working in fast-paced, dynamic time-sensitive environments.
  • Partner cross-functionally to create sales support guidance & materials including, talking points, data, industry insights, playbooks and recommendation rationales to aid in the sell-in process.
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with team members and cross-functional partners; work collaboratively via effective communication & mutual respect to achieve company goals.
  • Lead efforts to provide real-time Brand campaign monitoring and optimization recommendations.
  • Drive marketplace and competitive insights to identify and assess long-term growth opportunities and provide thought leadership to brand partners.
  • Partner to define pricing & packaging strategy of influencers services to drive sales & profit.
  • Lead, develop and coach a team of 7 high performing Brand strategists & Creator recruiters.
  • Collaborate closely with Sr. Director and fellow team leads on achieving the overarching Creator Partnership team priorities within Collective Voice.

  • A strong client service orientation, and the ability to form long-term mutually-beneficial relationships with external client partners as well as internal client representatives.

  • Experience spearheading cross-functional projects from problem identification to resolution.
  • Influencer and affiliate marketing experience is preferred but not required.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Ideal candidates will have 10 - 12 years of experience including 5+ years of team management.
  • A self-starter who possesses high energy, excellent presentation, creative, and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with superior writing and verbal communication skills
  • Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines; communicate effectively with a range of department teams and clients
  • Be willing to take risks to ensure creative thinking and the best outcomes possible
  • Ability to travel based on business needs

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base salary for this role will be between $121,392 - $170,000. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
