Onyx Collective is a new content brand designed to curate a slate of premium entertainment by creators of color and underrepresented voices.

Onyx Collective ushers an exciting slate of content for a global audience, including critically acclaimed debut project Questlove’s Oscar®-winning documentary “Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)”; “The Hair Tales,” from executive producers Tracee Ellis Ross, Michaela Angela Davis and Oprah Winfrey; legal drama “Reasonable Doubt,” from executive producers Raamla Mohamed, Kerry Washington and Larry Wilmore; award-winning documentary, “Aftershock,” from directors Paula Eiselt and Tonya Lewis Lee, and comedy series “Unprisoned,” executive produced and starring Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo.

The brand’s roster of prolific creators also includes writer and comedian Natasha Rothwell (“Insecure,” “SNL”), writer, producer and director Prentice Penny’s Penny for Your Thoughts, Ryan Coogler’s Proximity Media (“Judas and the Black Messiah,” “Black Panther”) and writer and director Destin Daniel Cretton (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) and his production company Family Owned.

Summary

Onyx Collective’s marketing and publicity team is seeking an Associate Manager, Social Media who will be an outstanding addition to our growing team. As an Associate Manager, Social Media at Onyx, you will work closely with the team to assist on priority social efforts for our Onyx Collective original titles and brand, along with general admin duties, working closely with the Originals Marketing, Publicity, Brand and Creative departments. The right person for this role will be passionate about pop culture, entertainment and TV. This person should have experience coordinating within editorial calendars and be keenly aware of GIF, emoji and meme culture. What You’ll Do

  • Create campaign social strategy for title launches and act as the social lead on assigned projects
  • Provide creative feedback, content posting, giveaways, sweepstakes, influencer campaigns and more
  • Develop and maintain all key workflow documents for the social media team including workback schedules, content calendars and planning documents
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure visibility on social media planning and efforts
  • Serve as key contact for vendors, agencies and in some cases, social platform account teams: vendor onboarding, assist in budget tracking, day-to-day vendor contact
  • Build and maintain an influencer database and assist the team on various influencer activations
  • Work with platform partners in the creation and verification process of opening social handles for upcoming campaigns
  • Work with the social insights team on all reporting, making strategic recommendations based on research-driven insights
  • Provide support at various premiere, awards and special events
  • Manage talent tool kits and sharing out to reps
  • Work with our marketing legal team to onboard agencies and process SOWs
  • Work closely with finance to submit and track all invoices

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in direct social media, marketing or project management at a creative agency or brand
  • Expertise in marketing and social media campaign workflows, including understanding the creative and production process as they relate to social media content
  • Ability to work well within highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams across various departments
  • Experience managing a high volume of project requests and asset deliverables from different internal partners for all social media channels
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and impeccable judgment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently

Preferred

  • Entertainment industry experience within a marketing capacity
  • Community management experience within the entertainment and/or lifestyle industry
  • Experience interfacing with in-front-of-the-camera talent and creative types
  • Experience developing social media strategy
  • Interest in developing strategy targeting BIPOC audiences

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $75,200.00 to $94,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
