The Senior Manager, Strategy for Mars Wrigley NA, will work closely with the regional management team, Finance Leadership Team, and the Global Strategy team to play a lead role in defining, developing, and performance monitoring the key Enterprise-level strategies for the North America business. This highly visible position is also the key point of contact for the Global Strategy team. This position will be filled by a candidate with exceptional drive and energy, who has strong analytical and financial skills, hands-on experience with strategy and business development, highly effective verbal and written communications skills, and the organizational agility to influence without authority in a highly decentralized organization.

What are we looking for?

  • BA in Strategy, Finance, or Marketing; MBA Required
  • 5+ years of related experience in business development, strategy, and planning
  • Prior experience in corporate strategy or consulting a plus
  • Experience in finance and/or strong financial acumen a plus

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead strategic planning for MARS Wrigley North America, including defining and managing the process across the business, liaison with Global and MVA strategy teams, and sharing best practice with other units. Connect and synthesize functional strategy work into one enterprise strategy and narrative. This requires working closely with the Cell and other functional teams (finance, supply, sales, etc.), and also includes integrating functional strategies, scenario analysis and linking to the annual plan process.
  • Ensure Successful Deployment of Strategy – work with the key NALT+ leaders to ensure MARS Wrigley North America strategy is translated into strategic and operational plans across the business. Develop metrics / scorecard to measure effectiveness of strategy and enabling leadership teams to make critical decisions related to strategic direction. Share best practices and key learning across the organization
  • Drive Strategy Development for MARS Wrigley North America – work in collaboration with MARS Wrigley Global to develop the strategy for MARS Wrigley North America, as well as strategy development related to internal consulting projects. Enable decision-making by leveraging tools and processes such as situation assessments opportunity identification, scenario planning, war games etc. to stimulate and facilitate strategy discussions and decisions. Lead synthesis of critical inputs, including consumer, customer, competitor and key influencer data. Generate outputs including portfolio strategy (products, markets, and categories), innovation focus areas, investment prioritization, risk mitigation. Ensure process and output is aligned at the Local and Global levels.
  • Co-ordinate planning processes across MARS Wrigley North America, to ensure that the business benefits from one clear, integrated process, with clear accountabilities, timelines, deliverable and expectations. This will require working with strategy and planning representatives from different functions to ensure that all planning sub-processes are integrated.
  • Strategic Thought Partner for Region President, NALT, and cross functional cell teams – Support regional president in strategic presentations and storytelling, provide internal consulting across the business and oversee projects of strategic importance as enablers of long-term strategy. Ensures brand & channel individual strategies are aligned to Mars Wrigley NA.
