If this is you, American Express has a great opportunity for a dynamic communications and graphic design professional with a passion for planning and executing creative communications campaigns that support organizational change and encourage adoption of workplace tools used by Amex’s more than 80,000 employees and contractors. The ideal candidate for this role will be:

Description:

The Manager, Technology Communications, plays a key role in creating communications campaigns that help American Express employees around the globe get familiar with and comfortable using the workplace tools they need to do their jobs. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing, graphic design, project management, and relationship building skills. This role is part of the company’s Technology organization, reporting to the Director, Technology Communications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with product teams to develop clear, compelling content with engaging narratives; consume and translate user journeys into easy-to-understand communications (words and graphics) to be consumed by a largely non-technical audience.
  • Write messaging, including emails, Slack posts, video scripts, intranet site copy, slide presentations, short articles, and physical and digital ads.
  • Design graphics for use in/on emails, intranet pages, ads, posters, and other digital and physical assets.
  • Build strong partnerships with Technology product teams and other stakeholders.
  • Stay informed of Technology’s vision and evolving details of product rollouts.
  • Set up and manage a communications calendar and project schedules.
  • Ensure consistency and quality control across communications campaigns and deliverables.
  • Look for ways to improve Technology Communications processes.
  • Track metrics and create reports to be shared with the team.
  • Maintain and work within corporate brand standards, ensuring quality and consistency in all materials.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years’ experience planning, designing, and executing creative strategies for communicating to employees about workplace tools
  • Strong graphic design and typography skills. Experience designing digital and physical assets.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, including for email, social media, intranet, video scripts, digital ads, and physical signage
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate, maintain good judgment, adapt quickly, influence others (including leadership), and prioritize projects.
  • Expert Word and PowerPoint skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro.
  • Professional experience with Slack or another workplace cloud-based collaboration platform.
  • Professional experience with Unily or another corporate intranet platform / content management system.
  • Portfolio (writing and design) required.
  • Agency experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, or another related field.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
