Manager Of Public Relations - Affiliate Shows Division (ASD)
Full-Time Position
We are looking for our next Manager of Publicity to join our Affiliate Show Division’s Marketing team. The main objective of this role is to create, manage, and execute all public relations campaign strategies for both domestic and international touring properties, and to develop and oversee external strategic communications efforts to strengthen and highlight the ASD/VStar brands. Candidate must possess excellent communications skills, including both written and verbal, and comfort with public speaking.
The Manager of Public Relations will have the opportunity to:
- Spearhead innovative publicity campaigns from conception to implementation for multiple domestic tours falling under the VStar and/or Cirque du Soleil affiliate brands. Tours may include (but are not limited to): PAW Patrol Live! “The Great Pirate Adventure, PAW Patrol Live! “Heroes Unite,” “Cirque Dreams Holidaze,” “Baby Shark,” “Blue Man Group,” and “Trolls LIVE!”;
- Lead PR efforts for international tours including (but not limited to): PAW Patrol Live! “Race to the Rescue,” PAW Patrol Live! “The Great Pirate Adventure,” and The Blue Man Group World Tour, “Bluevolution.” Serve as liaison between international promoters and IP partners;
- Work in tandem with the Publicity Coordinator to pitch and secure media interviews and coordinate logistics with the touring unit for each production;
- Work closely with IP partners to ensure PR and communications efforts and collateral materials used in PR initiatives are on-brand and representative of both organizations;
- Pitch stories to major media outlets and industry trade publications that will elevate brand awareness;
- Create, proof, and edit all publicity assets including (but not limited to) brand manuals, press kits, press releases, and talking points for use by internal and external stakeholders;
- Facilitate VIP meet & greets, photo opps, and events with celebrities and influencers in select markets;
- Measure results for all publicity efforts and adjust plans and execution accordingly;
- Develop, build, and maintain strong media relationships with top-tier press;
- Develop and lead media training sessions with cast members and other employees;
- Work closely with internal departments including marketing, digital, creative, booking, entertainment and operations to ensure a cohesive launch and run for all existing and new VStar and/or ASD brands and shows;
- Work with marketing teams to engage influencers and generate influencer content via ticket trade;
- Work closely with Corporate Comms, TSD & RSD to share relevant information re: ASD and to explore cross-promotional opportunities;
- Manage and promote the company brand to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring consistent use of creative materials and messaging in all company materials;
- Provide communication counsel and support to senior management;
- Nominate company for industry awards in order to increase brand awareness and attract promising talent;
- Contract with outside agencies and individuals for services needed to supplement department staff and manage relationships with vendors;
- Act as spokesperson on behalf of the tours and/or company as needed;
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees;
- Develop a well-trained staff, guide their efforts, resolve problems, determine performance and recommend promotion, transfer or dismissal;
- Conduct short and long-range planning for communications initiatives and the Corporate Communications Department;
- All other work-related duties as assigned.

What does it take for this role.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications, or related field;
- Minimum 7 years related work experience, preferably in the live entertainment industry;
- Excellent writing, proofing, and editing skills;
- Knowledge of Cision PR platform and/or other PR reporting platforms;
- Previous experience leading media training;
- Solid relationships with a wide variety of media outlets/reporters;
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet computer applications and Excel/Microsoft Word skills;
- Spanish language skills a plus, but not required;
- Project management and organizational skills;
- Ability to work remotely, independently, and as part of a team;
- Ability to analyze and improve upon existing process;
- Motivation to learn new skills and continuously seek build upon the company’s offerings;
- Understanding of social media platforms;
- Ability to build and maintain relationships and work well with others as part of a team;
- Experience with multi-location business (touring, retail, etc.) and/or hyperlocal activation extremely valuable;
- Excellent creative problem-solving skills with a track record for smart, on-the-fly troubleshooting and collaborative resolution;
- Must be able to work normal business hours in-office, remotely and be available for calls, issues, and media requests from office, home, or on the go outside normal business hours. We operate in a dynamic, exciting, 24/7 industry with weekend performances;
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
- If applicable for the tours travel schedule must be and remain in good standing with all proper authorities throughout the Services Period, including maintaining the validity of one’s passport and the ability to travel internationally;
- CDSEG employees travelling in countries where COVID-19 vaccination proofs are required will still need to comply with these requirements as a condition of employment;
- Verification of the right to work in the United States for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, as demonstrated by completion of the Form I-9 upon hire and the submission of acceptable documentation (as noted on the Form I-9) verifying one’s identity and work authorization;
- Able to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
