As a Senior Director of Earned Media at We Are BMF, you will build, execute and scale cross-functional programs or integrated marketing campaigns while also leading cross disciplinary teams. You will partner with our top-tier roster of clients, crafting messages and cultivating relationships with key media using your out-of-the-box thinking to develop concepts and story angles as part of big-picture strategies. Under your leadership, your team will grow into industry-leading communicators.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management:
- Advise and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
- Supervise the compilation and management of all relevant materials for weekly reports, activation decks, post-event case studies/recaps, required client follow-up, and integrated project / campaign status documents.
- Working hand-in-hand with creative and strategy teams to ensure success of all campaign elements
- Supervising and managing client accounts by communicating with We Are BMF Partners / Senior Leadership to track client and vertical goals, reviewing campaign performance, and making adjustments as needed
Ideation & Strategy:
- Guide campaign development by aligning audience insights and client goals to develop comprehensive strategies in both short and long term
- Support cross disciplinary departments in the strategy / creative development and planning and bring to life the most effective storytelling for top-tier brands and brands on the horizon
- Create and oversee creation of client decks, presentations and strategy / program overview documents, participate in crafting pitch and presenting to clients.
- Able to ideate innovative, multichannel approach campaigns
Media Relations:
- Cultivate relationships with tier A media
- Develop attention-grabbing pitches relevant to industry trends and insights
Leadership:
- Supervise, train and inspire talented, high-performing direct reports and cross disciplinary project teams.
- Contributes to building a team environment that facilitates: mutual respect and partnership across functions; strategic thinking; appropriate risk taking; open lines of communication between team members, on-going performance feedback, professional development, and adherence to agency policy.
Business Development:
- Contribute to new business proposals and pitches including meeting with prospective clients and copywriting for select proposals in collaboration with division leads and new business lead
- Identify opportunities to organically grow existing business
Requirements:
- 8+ years’ experience leading a broad range of lifestyle accounts (food & beverage,, travel, hospitality, design/architecture, spirits, CPG, fashion, beauty) for both legacy brands and startups
- Creative and motivated by team success
- Strong strategy background as a big idea and tactical partner for clients
- Ability to craft and execute strategies incorporating PR, social media, influencer and experiential KPIs in planning
- 5+ years’ managerial experience coaching, fostering career development for teams of at least 2-3 direct reports
- Strong roster of media relationships in tier A outlets
- Ambitious strategist with a healthy balance of mentor and doer mentalities; Comfortable with “hands-on” management of tasks, and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
