General Summary

The Community Engagement Coordinator recruits family. friend, & neighbor (FFN) early childhood caregivers for programs offered through Candelens Family Support & Education (FSE) division. Recruitment is expected to be driven by direct outreach or through cultivating relationships with community partners in contact with or providing services for FFN early childhood caregivers and the associated families.

As needed, provides a high-quality early childhood learning environment to children in a variety of community settings, while their family members or caregivers are in a separate room strengthening their early learning knowledge.

Direct Outreach

  • Utilize creative and innovative strategies to recruit FFN caregivers from targeted neighborhoods for specific FSE programs, including Kith & Kin, Play & Learn, Circle of Trust, and various focus groups.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts to fill program sessions based on provider preferences, geographic location, and class size.
  • Engage in effective communication with recruited FFN providers to ensure program engagement, participation, and follow-up.
  • Assist FFN providers and associated families with accessing other human services of need.
  • Edit flyers for recruitment and community engagement purposes
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to support outreach/recruitment via different platforms/media
  • Host and conduct virtual and in-person outreach efforts, including presentations, to promote Candelens programs

Relationship Cultivation

  • Cultivate and foster relationships with community partners such as community-based organizations (CBOs), places of worship, federally-qualified health centers (FQHCs) and community health centers (CHCs), school districts, elementary school, libraries, community centers, food banks, places of business, and youth sports leagues, among others. The goal is to partner with those who provide services for or are in communication with underserved families throughout Nevada.
  • Target relationship building based on strategic engagement with communities of high child poverty, lack of available and affordable child care, and needs specific to each community.
  • Coordinate outreach and/or activities through community partners to reach FFN providers and underserved families with young children (0-5).

Program Enrollment

  • Through direct outreach and relationship cultivation, screen FFN caregivers for various needs, which may include social determinants of health (SDOH), and enroll them in the appropriate Candelen programs.
  • Coordinate enrollment with the Managers and Director of Family Support & Education to meet predetermined targets and geographic reach for various program types.
  • Conduct follow-up with program enrollees, prior graduates, and/or drop-outs, conduct periodic surveys of program quality/satisfaction, behavioral changes, and needs assessments, among others.

Provide Services

  • Provide engaging and safe learning opportunities for young children, as needed by the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred with at least 3 years experience working in community outreach
  • Demonstrated ability to lead community outreach activities in poor, underserved communities
  • Knowledge of basic early childhood development and strategies to engage with young children.
  • Must be bilingual English/Spanish

Requirements

  • Ability to travel throughout the region, have a current/valid drivers license and vehicle insurance, and have reliable transportation by automobile at all times
  • Ability to effectively communicate with organizations and individuals, track follow-up in SalesForce, and meet enrollment quotas.
  • Ability to meet background check requirements upon initial hire and for the duration of employment
  • Ability to provide proof of completion of the COVID-19 vaccination series prior to hire. Reasonable accommodations may be considered for religious and medical exemptions

Pay band: $40,000-$60,000
