Responsibilities

We are looking for an innovative and energetic content creator with a passion for visual storytelling to join our team of experienced, award-winning content creators!

Do you have a passion for storytelling in the age of digital content creation? Can you produce work that stands out from all the other digital media that fills screens every day? In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a creative innovator, work with the latest technology, and learn and grow as you tell the story of one of the most recognizable brands in higher education.

This position helps to tell Florida State’s story daily through multi-platform video and audio and digital content creation for marketing and promotion. Our new team member will develop motion graphics and create templates for use across our project timelines. This person will also help to manage our digital media server and production equipment.

Daily responsibilities vary and include filming and editing, motion graphic creation, setup, and breakdown of equipment for interviewing subjects on or off campus, operating audio and video equipment, and video and audio editing. This position will also serve as a video server and equipment manager.

The ideal candidate must possess excellent digital media production skills and be a team player with a strong worth ethic who is an efficient multi-tasker and passionate about their work. We are seeking an innovator who brings new ideas to the position and wants to contribute their experience and expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience related to the responsibilities of the job, or high school diploma or equivalent, and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education and/or experience may substitute at the comparable rate.)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task on daily deadlines.
• Experience operating audio recording equipment.
• Experience operating video cameras and editing programs.
• Knowledge of journalism, communications, and public relations.
• Knowledge of media and public relations protocol to maintain effective working relationships with media, the university, and the community.
• Experience producing digital content for multi-platform programming.

Valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cinema and/or DSLR cameras
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects)
• Experience with digital media equipment
