ZAGG is seeking a Video Content Creator with a passion for storytelling to create, concept, shoot, and edit videos from ideation to completion to support our brand and product communications. The Video Content Creator will be highly skilled in videography, editing, and photography (as needed) through shooting and editing narrative-style content videos and series, social media video clips, product-focused videos, and digital video ads.
The Video Content Creator will have strong camera operation skills, an eye for principal photography, storytelling mastery, and editing capabilities. This individual will be able to work concurrently on large-scale projects in addition to acting quickly against day-to-day execution video pieces. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in social media and the ability to create compelling and engaging content across media platforms. This position will report to the Visual Content Director.
Responsibilities
50% Production Management
- Project manages ALL video and photography production tasks
- Create high-quality, compelling, and impactful video assets that drive engagement and conversion across web, social, and video ads
- Create original video content to be shared across all social media platforms
- Work closely with the creative team and marketing teams to fulfill the video needs of each of our products and brands
- Collaborate with Visual Content Team to concept and present treatments to Creative Director and the Marketing Leadership team
- Works closely with the Creative Director, Video Content Director and Photographer in ideation and execution of all brands and product storytelling, and product feature videos
- Creates a shot list from the approved creative treatment and gather the necessary equipment to tell that unique story
- End to End video production; both shoot and edit footage
- Help to maintain an organized of photo/video assets
- Edit our videos to tell a compelling on-brand narrative
- Maintain our visual standards for video and collaborate with our photographer
- Experiment with shooting, lighting, and retouching to help us continue to develop and improve our visual style and distinctive stories
- Transcodes all media from shoots and create selects for each individual video
- Edit footage according to tight scripts and storyboards or loose production guidelines for multiple rough cuts
- Sources music that fit vibe and feel of the story being told
- Creates a color/grade for approved final cut of each individual spot
- Generates multiple exports for all video platforms we distribute our content on
- Ensures all video content conforms to and upholds all brand visual style guidelines and standards
40% Shooting
- Assists in managing the content production calendar and video shoot schedules
- Contribute to creating storyboards, scripts, and developing video ideas
- Assisting with both in-studio and on-location videos (and photography shoots when needed) for content production
- Independently shoot footage for long form and short form videos
- Organize and attend location scouts to determine production decisions
- Oversees technical decisions such as lighting, composition, blocking, etc... to ensure successful execution of vision and goals
- Determine what equipment is necessary and transport, set up, operate, and tear down various production equipment. You will also be assisting with lighting and audio
- Setups and breakdown set and equipment before and following each production
- Ensures that standard operating procedures and safety protocols are adhered to
- Organizes the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
- Digitizes and organizes all footage for use in videos
- Understands frame rates, frame sizes, codecs, compressions, and camera acquisition formats
- Uploads video for digital routing/proofing and implements feedback into edit
- Addresses edit change requests throughout the approval process
- Uploads all final video content to a DAM system and maintain video folders
- Responsible for delivering the final videos to the required specifications
- Archives all footage at the completion of each project
- Maintain gear and make suggestions for upgrades when necessary
- Constantly evaluate and present learnings from video executions, best practices, and technological advancements

Skills
- Knowledge of website, social media, advertising platforms and trends
- Proficient in long-form videos for YouTube (ads, product walk throughs, demos, Installation/tutorials, interviews, etc.)
- Experience in editing short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, etc.
- Experience editing high-quality brand/customer story videos for web and social media platforms
- Ability to work independently or as part of a larger, collaborative team
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and helpful, able to multi-task, self-starter
- Competence with working in shared network environments and structured file systems
- Solid communication skills and ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to bring energy, passion, and a positive attitude to everything you do
- Experience and proficiency in the Adobe CC Suite (Premiere and After Effects)
- Experience in the digital workflow, including codecs, image types, resolutions, and frame rates and staying ahead of changing technology, highly preferred
- Proficient in audio editing, audio mixing and various audio deliverables
- Experience in color/grade of footage to create visual appeal
- Knowledge and experience of YouTube and social video best practices is an asset
- Experience shooting for and editing to desired social sizes (16:9, 1:1, 4:5, 9:16)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Marketing or Advertising
- 3-5 years’ experience in video shooting, editing and visual storytelling, required
- 3-5 years’ extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis on Premiere Pro and After Effects, required
- DaVinci Resolve experience a plus
- 3-5 years’ advanced knowledge of RED digital camera technology, Canon, and comparable, required
- A creative visionary with the ability to see a project from concept to delivery
- Ability to organize and manage several large projects at once in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and collaboration skills
- Deep knowledge of digital video production with experience in all aspects of videography, editing, and post-production
- Technical understanding of video production processes; production, preproduction, and postproduction
- Agency contracting experience and/or production experience, strongly preferred
- A current reel that conveys both technical ability and creative thought. Please provide a brief description about what you did for each segment provided for evaluation.
- Up to 25% travel may be required
