Creative Project Manager

Artisans on Fire
Las Vegas, NV, USA ⚠ [Archived] No Longer Accepting Applicants

Artisans Holdings Creative Project Manager position involves planning, organizing and leading creative projects from concept to completion. The CPM will work closely with in-house and off-shore creatives, agency clients, and executive management to ensure projects are delivered on time with a high standard of quality. A good creative project manager makes sure things get done. A great creative project manager shapes how things get done on time, in scope, and remains curious about how to do it better next time.

We are looking for a great creative project manager. Is that you?

The Creative Project Manager position is primarily responsible for 3 things:

  1. Plan, organize, and lead fast-paced creative projects from strategy to concept through production and delivery. You will be responsible for time estimates, project planning, and managing the project scope.
  2. Being a master in communication—Clients, Creatives and Management are all clients of the Creative Project Manager. Project planning, project progress and project delivery are owned by our CPMs. Over-communication with an emphasis on warmth and competence keeps all 3 layers of humans happy and feeling good.
  3. Leading with a systems-thinking approach—You love geeking out about new ways to solve problems, whether it’s via the coolest new feature in ClickUp, automation, or how to optimize our workflow to help our creatives become more efficient.

This is a full-time in-office position that operates our work hours 9AM to 6PM PST.

Who you are if you want to crush this position:

  • I exude a positive presence, energy, and demeanor—I will be one of the team members all staff and management interacts with the most—so this means I must lead, inspire and maintain a positive attitude.
  • I am humble and hungry to grow, even though I have experience. I strive to be the best in the world at my role and recognize and invite the need to continue growing.
  • I have a sense of urgency—I think fast, move fast, fail fast, and learn fast.
  • I have a secret, or not so secret, appreciation for doing hard things sometimes, because that is how I grow.
  • I own my $h!t—When I tell someone I’ll do it, consider it done. I take accountability when I mess up and welcome criticism with gratitude.
  • I have people’s back—I will pitch in when someone needs help without asking and I won’t expect anything in return.
  • I am bold—I am not phased by difficult problems and not afraid to express my ideas when something can be done better, share when I don’t know how to do something, and I don’t feel awkward or upset when giving or receiving critical feedback.
  • I’m a natural relationship-builder, adept in fostering a sense of both community and trust amongst creatives, clients and other management.
  • I have a passion for entrepreneurship and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by fast-growing companies.
  • I appreciate autonomy and don’t take lightly the opportunity to have ownership of a project and an outcome. I am a natural leader.
  • My brain operates at the intersection of creative and systems thinking—I love solving problems, and I think creating a system or workflow to create better time estimates is just as creative and exciting as a logo design or beautiful narrative video.
  • I enjoy decision making and feel a sense of pride when a call I made leads to a great end result for a project.
  • I have previous experience as a creative in my field, so I can speak the language, but I found my love of planning and systems pulled me more towards creative project management, since it’s the best of both worlds for me.
  • I have previous experience working with a robust PM software like ClickUp or Asana. I am comfortable if I have to operate out of ClickUp and look forward to making it my home away from home.
  • I am technically curious and enjoy tinkering to figure out if a plugin, software, or tool can help make a project better or faster.
  • I’m down with SOPs, yeah you know me—I like to follow them, I like creating them. It’s kind of my thing.
  • I am currently keeping up on the latest trends in PM software and advancements in AI, because I want to find ways to utilize both to make myself and people I work with more efficient.
  • I value warmth and competence. Neither is enough on its own. I want to be great at what I do and I want people to enjoy working with me too.
  • I maintain a healthy dose of paranoia—I know that during projects, anything can and probably will happen, so we can prepare to be unprepared. I respond well to adversity, because PMs all face adversity during challenging projects. I know my attitude and how I respond has an impact on the creatives I work with and the business as a whole.
  • I am comfortable pitching clients upsell opportunities if I think it would benefit them.
  • I like to proactively plan rather than react whenever possible.

What we’re looking for:

  • 4+ years experience managing full-scale creative projects such as video production, post and pre-production, advertising deliverables both graphic and video-based, web design projects, photography productions large and small through concept to delivery.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges
  • Systems thinker
  • Strong writing skills—creative briefs, project plans, call sheets, SOPs, writing is a big part of the job.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results
  • Previous experience in a creative marketing environment
  • Strong knowledge in project management software such as ClickUp or Asana, Notion etc
  • Experience in Slack, Clickup or Loom is a bonus
  • Strong knowledge in Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, Google Drive)
  • Experience creating time estimates and forecasting creative projects large and small.
  • Ability to communicate in creative industry terms to a diverse set of creative specialists (ie; video, photo, web design, copywriting, graphics, advertising etc.)
  • Leadership skills to train, guide and mentor the work of junior colleagues or creatives
  • Strong presenter who communicates ideas clearly to creatives, clients and management
  • Creative problem-solver who gets excited by finding ways to streamline a process

What’s in it for you:

  • Nearly unlimited learning budget—within reason, if it aligns with your role and shared goals
  • The promise of no ceiling for growth—Our former graphic designer now runs one of our agencies (and she’s crushing it!)
  • Choose your own adventure career path—You won’t find this at many places, but between our network and our future plans, there are always opportunities
  • Performance bonus tied to company growth
  • Standing invite to our weekly creative reflections meeting to share your week with a bunch of passionate creatives (it's a team favorite!)
  • Meaningful and dedicated mentorship—We often tailor your company path to match your personality and goals
  • We will invest in you as much as you invest in yourself
  • Great work is celebrated and rewarded in creative ways—We are a creative company after all
  • Unlimited snacks

What types of projects will the Creative Project Manager be leading and planning?

  • Full-scale video productions, like shooting at a hotel property or a sports game
  • Short-form social videos in the content style of creators like Alex Hormozi or Codie Sanchez
  • Graphic design projects like decks, logo design, and social graphics
  • Photo shoots for brands or large retail properties
  • Daily photo-based social content created for numerous brands
  • Web design projects that involve UX and UI designers
  • Large-scale advertisement design
  • Copywriting and script writing projects for our clients and our Founder-created content initiatives.

The cold, hard truth about this position:

Working at an agency can sometimes feel like fighting fires every day. You have to worry about scheduling resources, gathering requirements from clients, and managing the day-to-day of your projects. Creative Project Managers are hired to help bring order to the chaos.

Managing graphic designers, web designers, copywriters, content creators, UX designers, videographers, photographers, and a sometimes stressed-out Creative Director/Founder, comes with a unique set of challenges. Projects can range from assisting in creating copy and design for a website to helping push the video team to achieve high-end video production, or directing a celebrity to read his lines with more energy for a quick green screen studio session. People in this role need to foster an environment of positivity and inspiration while honoring the creative process and still delivering projects on time. Then they need to context switch to think about how to improve the same project the next time. Project managers do more than manage projects; they help streamline operations to create better frameworks to run the projects in the future.

That said, working for an entrepreneurial-spirited company that is growing fast is an opportunity that, for the right person, is an unparalleled chance to learn and grow in skills that could see that person have no ceiling on advancement, whether that is within the company, or wherever they plan to head next. If you’re looking to hone these types of skills working in a company with a vision and work ethic to make it happen, then move on to a bigger and better position within the company in a few years, or even start your own, then this is likely a great fit for you.

Here’s a summary and a bit about who Artisans Holdings is:

Artisans Holdings starts, runs, and scales specialized agencies. We recently won an EMMY for our video work. We’ve been around for 8 years and cite Palms Casino Resort, Planet 13 Superstore (the largest dispensary in the world), content creator Alex Hormozi, industry-leading sportsbook DraftKings, the world’s most rebroadcast sporting event the World Series of Poker (WSOP), and current Stanley Cup champion Las Vegas Golden Knights, as notable clients we’ve worked with.

The agencies we run are small and nimble. We’ve spent the last year turning most of our work into productized and processed services to allow for more efficiency and optimize client satisfaction. Our structure is split into two teams. Team One is the management team and is responsible for leading and planning the delivery work of team two. Team Two is the creatives that work in the fields of video, graphics, photo, and web design.

We have a strong 1-3-5 year vision for the company and we know how to get there. We require people that read this job post and felt like it spoke to them to get there. Is that you? Please add “That’s me, and here’s why…” to the answer to the first question we send you via email after you apply.
