QuitCarbon
San Francisco, CA, USA Remote ⚠ [Archived] No Longer Accepting Applicants

Head of Acquisition and Growth Marketing

Remote and/or San Francisco, CA | Full time or Contract

QuitCarbon is looking for an entrepreneurial, hands-on Acquisition and Growth Marketing Leader to help millions of homeowners transition off fossil fuels and on to clean, safe, electric energy.

You'll be the driving force behind all our digital marketing initiatives, which spans acquiring new homeowner clients and nurturing them through our onboarding process, initial purchase of a clean energy retrofit (like a heat pump, heat pump water heater, induction stove, EV charger, etc), additional retrofit purchases, and on-going engagement with QuitCarbon as we bring new services to our homeowner clients.

You'll develop, implement, track and optimize digital campaigns across multiple platforms. You will own all of our marketing channels and measure their success. You'll be responsible for creating a digital marketing strategy that supports our overarching business goals, then you’ll implement that strategy (mostly by yourself at first, though we want to hear what sort of help you know you’ll need, and eventually, you’ll have a team to work with) and will iterate upon it towards our success at electrifying all the things!

The Things You’ll Do and the Impact You'll Have:

Our acquisition and growth marketing activities must attract and motivate a diverse set of customer personas, from climate-conscious homeowners shopping for state-of-the-art heat pump retrofits to cost-conscious homeowners with high utility bills and failed appliances. As the first dedicated marketing professional on our team, you will get exposure to a wide variety of experiences and responsibilities, including the opportunity to:

  • Explore our existing research and customer personas, suggest additional exploration, then build the strategies and tactics necessary to attract, convert, and retain our diverse customers.
  • Work with our skilled Product and Operations teams to identify growth opportunities and run experiments for improving conversion and retention.
  • Create, manage and experiment with new user acquisition campaigns - including partner marketing, PR, event marketing, direct mail, influencer marketing, etc.
  • Conceive and execute on a wide range of content campaigns to drive education and engagement across our website and all social media platforms (including Threads, Nextdoor, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure frictionless homeowner onboarding experiences, as we take the confusing and complicated process of understanding home appliances and energy consumption and make it easy.
  • Create and refine automated, personalized multichannel campaigns to keep homeowners progressing on their decarbonization journeys.

Most importantly, you will get to use your amazing marketing skills to help tackle the climate crisis!

What We Look For:

Must Have:

  • Strong individual contributor skills - you’ll get things done as a team of one.
  • Scrappy and resourceful execution - you can conceptualize, test, analyze, refine, and if necessary, kill your marketing concepts, all with a limited budget and an imperative to quickly deliver ever-improving results.
  • Effective collaboration - you know when to work with colleagues, when to seek outside resources, and when to shout “HELP!” - plus, you aren’t scared to say “I don’t know”.
  • A desire to constantly learn, grow, and eventually become a player + coach. When this goes well, your role will evolve into a mix of team leadership and individual contribution.
  • Outstanding written and visual communication skills - you must love great copy, design, and data visualizations, you need to have strong opinions about what “great” looks like, and your skills at producing those things range from solid to top-notch.
  • A love for all channels - you want to find what works great, and you’ll bring your experience with a wide variety of marketing channels to the various challenges we’ll face.
  • Comfort with ambiguity! There is no playbook to follow as we’re pulling the future forward. A successful marketer will have the ability to prioritize and make marketing decisions independently.
  • A passion for solving the climate crisis!

Nice to Have:

  • Ideally, you have worked in HubSpot - at least you can commit to learning it deeply and getting the most from it.
  • Experience with marketing home services, energy services, or related products to homeowners is a plus - especially if you’ve founded or grown marketing at an early-stage company.

Salary and Equity

  • $60,000 - $125,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
  • Significant equity, reflecting the impact you’ll have here at QuitCarbon.
