Description

Location: Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model (virtual and in-office) with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection. This includes remote work and 1-2 days in office per week. Must work EST hours.

The Public Relations Director - Executive Visibility will play a key role in enhancing the visibility and thought leadership of our organization's executives. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic public relations initiatives to position our executives as industry experts and thought leaders. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.

How You Will Make An Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Executive Visibility Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive executive visibility strategy that enhances the presence and influence of our organization's executives in key industry sectors. Identify opportunities for speaking engagements, media appearances, and thought leadership opportunities to showcase our executives' expertise.
  • Thought Leadership Development: Collaborate with executives to develop compelling thought leadership content, including articles, white papers, and blog posts. Drive the creation of insightful and impactful content that aligns with our organization's key messages and strategic objectives.
  • Media Relations and Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with relevant media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers. Proactively pitch stories and secure media opportunities to amplify our executives' visibility and thought leadership. Serve as a media liaison for the organization, effectively communicating key messages and promoting our executives' expertise.
  • Executive Messaging and Training: Work closely with executives to refine their messaging and storytelling capabilities. Provide media training and guidance to enhance their presentation and interview skills. Ensure consistent and effective messaging aligned with our organization's brand and values.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including marketing, communications, and content teams, to align executive visibility initiatives with broader organizational objectives. Partner with cross-functional teams to leverage executive visibility opportunities in marketing campaigns, social media strategies, and other communication channels.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish metrics and measurement frameworks to evaluate the success and impact of executive visibility and thought leadership initiatives. Monitor media coverage, speaking engagements, and thought leadership content engagement to continuously refine and optimize strategies.

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS in a related field; 8 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, And Experiences

  • Understanding of media dynamics and trends within the healthcare industry.
  • Understanding of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements relevant to healthcare communications.
  • Strong familiarity with current industry trends, advancements, and challenges in healthcare, as well as the ability to leverage this knowledge to position the organization and its leaders as thought leaders.
  • Strong network and relationships with key media contacts in the healthcare industry, enabling effective media outreach and collaboration.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful public relations campaigns, particularly in positioning executives as thought leaders.
  • Strong understanding of media relations, influencer engagement, and industry trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content and messages.
  • Exceptional leadership and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in measuring and analyzing PR campaign effectiveness using metrics and analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with digital and social media platforms and their role in enhancing executive visibility.
