Director of Marketing
Job Summary:
The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading the development and execution of a best-in-class go-to-market and content strategy. They will oversee the full-funnel digital marketing efforts, brand management, social media activities, and project management. Additionally, they will be responsible for creative development, including overseeing graphic designers, photographers, and videographers. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of overall experience, with 5+ years in leadership and management positions building a high-performing creative and marketing team.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage and execute annual strategic marketing plans, content calendar, consumer insights, budget, and advertising to support sales and revenue objectives.
- Understanding of the overall business, revenue generation, cost and budget management in order to make decisions in the best interest of the company, support team education, and increase cross-collaboration.
- Partner with the Ecommerce and Marketing Creative to develop best in class content for DTC and Ecommerce brand stores, product detail pages (PDP), video, and enhanced content.
- Oversee the social media, influencer, brand ambassador, and UGC content creation for the company, providing vision, guidance, support, and accountability for the team
- Prepare monthly OKR/KPI reports, dashboards, and executive presentations on marketing strategic goals.
- Lead the creative team, ensuring strong collaboration and support cross-functionally with mutual accountability while guaranteeing the team is set up for success with direction, information, and increasing throughput
- Guide the marketing team's activities, focusing on managing and prioritizing to ensure deliverables are met within established budgets and time frames.
- Develop marketing team boards and dashboards within Monday.com, providing visibility, accountability, and leading in appropriate prioritization of marketing activities to support the business.
- Manage website, including but not limited to product management onsite (uploading new product and removing old product), ADA compliance, DNS and URL, replatforming and consolidating if needed, and regular site changes, ensuring collaboration with key stakeholders providing clear visibility and involvement.
- Email marketing to support new product launches, key account growth, seasonal and company events to drive both ecommerce and brick and mortar revenue.
- Lead key tradeshow engagements, such as Global Pet Expo, working cross-functionally and collaboratively to ensure all key stakeholders are supported, projects are on time and within budget, conducting post-tradeshow feedback to further increase success, and qualifying the value to the business.
- Share results and opportunities, contribute to the education of peers and the achievement of department and company goals.
- Manages team members in setting them up for success, providing coaching, and ensuring they’re meeting individual and team goals.
- Lead with a seek-to-understand and solution-mindset.
- Annual budget forecasting and validation of opportunities prior to the review process to communicate the business case and need.
- Qualify and demonstrate business ROI for existing and potential programs and external partners.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the global pet supply ecosystem and competitive landscape to monitor and develop strategic product feedback, insights, USP, and positioning. Provide regular updates on industry trends and reporting to provide visibility internally on the evolving and changing landscape.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other:
- Hands-on experience with social media, influencer marketing, content creation, brand guidelines, Amazon and Ecommerce, project management, website, SEO/SEM, forecasting, budget management.
- Develop and report on KPIs for respective channel performance and team members, supporting company goals of increasing revenue, managing expenses to stay in and under budget, and gaining marketing share
- Ability to balance KPIs and analyze metrics, diving into the details in order to understand what is working, what needs improvement, and where the greatest opportunity exists for the business
- Strategic, data-driven, and analytical mindset with the ability to make difficult decisions quickly
- Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on communication, team-play, problem-solving, accountability, teachability, vision, servant-leadership, and ability to coach others.
- Proven track record in crafting compelling positioning, brand storytelling, and thought leadership content with demonstrated experience designing and implementing successful integrated campaigns for consumer products
- Innovative and creative about consumer marketing and insights
- Must perform well in a fast-paced environment and possess organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines effectively
- Exceptional project management, organizational, writing, and presentation skills
- Ability to transition between multiple projects well, prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines
- Ability to take responsibility for developing and implementing the global strategic plan across all channels and all brands.
- Establish and document key team processes to ensure collaboration and streamline throughput
- Management and development of team members, investing in them and holding them accountable
Years of experience:
- 10+ years of experience in a hands-on consumer marketing position with proven results in brand management, digital marketing, advertising, Ecommerce, DTC, business analytics, social media, content creation, consumer insights, and expertise in launching new consumer products worldwide
- 5+ years of proven management and leadership experience: the ability to grow and foster relationships, meet timelines, and demonstrate a high-degree of accountability, coachability, and willingness to invest in and serve others to set them up for success
- MBA with a concentration in Marketing preferred or Bachelor’s degree in marketing/business administration
Salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 DOE plus annual bonus potential.
