Overview
A position supporting the Strategy team focusing on research and strategic social planning, as well as supporting the Biz Dev/Comms team by owning the day-to-day conceptualization and execution of agency social posts.
The best candidate for this role would be collaborative (as nearly all responsibilities include working with agency and non-agency partners), strategic (as every function of this role must deliver on a strategic objective), creative (as content creation, writing and photo/video skills are key) and driven (as proactivity is central to the success of this position).
The Social Strategist & Content Creator will primarily report to Director of Social Strategy, with a dotted line to the Director and Manager of Biz Dev.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
Social Strategy
- Support strategy team in development of fundamentals of social media strategies including audience, channel, content, brand guidelines and social voice
- Create, maintain, and analyze ongoing/one-off social listening monitors to better understand consumer behavior and sentiment
- Leverage social listening tools to extract relevant brand, campaign and category insights
- Develop social platform and content POVs for internal, partner and client teams
- Identify, analyze, and apply trends/opportunities to engage around brand-relevant topics and key cultural moments
Content Creation
- Work with the strategy lead and agency PR firm on creation of social ed cal.
- Lead creation and execution of agency social posts for timely, newsworthy content, as well as evergreen content for social channels.
- Provide strategic support to new business, including starting private social channels for pitch work and creating content to post for pitch clients
- Create 65+ social posts a year for LinkedIn & Instagram and other channels
- Own all aspects of agency social posts, from strategy to execution to tracking of interactions, including development of social post content and copy and working with agency PR firm to implement proper hashtags
- Manage agency social channels, linked stories, and agency bios
- Bring interesting, relevant and timely social ideas to the strategy and Biz Dev teams, consistent with agency enterprise level objectives
Qualifications
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Advertising or Related field.
- Quickly learn and be fluent in the Doner brand, tone, voice and sensibilities
- Strategic understanding of agency positioning, vertical expertise and key industry trends.
- Strong foundational knowledge of all social channels and their technologies
- Exceptional research and analysis skills – be able to understand audiences, trends, and culture
- Content creation skills including photography, video and post writing
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Innovative, resourceful problem solver with a never-give-up attitude
- Attention to detail is a must
