The Role
As the AV Ecosystem Business Technology Leader, you’ll play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between engineering development and Dolby’s AV ecosystem strategy execution. Collaborating closely with the Business and Product team, you will co-own the AV ecosystem business segment, contributing valuable technology insights to shape our strategic direction. Your role involves unlocking fresh opportunities, overseeing tech projects aligned with the AV ecosystem, and working as an integral part of the Business Technology team. Responsibilities:
Shape Business Strategy:
- Keep a pulse on emerging tech trends that could influence Dolby’s AV ecosystem.
- Offer an informed perspective on the future tech landscape, translating it into actionable opportunities that guide Dolby’s strategy for the next 3-5 years.
- Apply your deep understanding of the AV ecosystem to push boundaries while aligning with Dolby’s offerings and business objectives.
Foster External Interest:
- Proactively seek new AV ecosystem partnerships and opportunities.
- Ensure Dolby’s technology is prominently represented in partner discussions, introducing innovative ideas, and ensuring follow-through.
- Cultivate trust and confidence among business and sales leaders, establishing engineering as a key collaborator in new ventures.
Streamline Project Delivery:
- Define the technology vision and strategy for the AV ecosystem.
- Collaborate with global Technology Centers to assemble the right teams for projects, ensuring they align with business objectives.
- Monitor project progress and tackle challenges by partnering with stakeholders.
- Facilitate cross-project collaboration to achieve overarching business objectives that span different areas.
- Earn respect and credibility among engineers, offering effective technical guidance across project teams.
Requirements
- Skillful influencer, adept at leading teams across different geographies and disciplines without formal authority.
- Strong communication skills, capable of providing clear direction and inspiring others to share the vision, while also building consensus with Entertainment leaders and key stakeholders.
- Highly accountable for achieving business outcomes, understanding how to steer engineering projects in the right direction.
- Extensive technological expertise across multiple domains, with the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and lead across various areas relevant to the AV ecosystem.
- Proven track record of leading engineering projects in large, cross-functional initiatives.
- Driven by a passion for developing AV content ecosystems around Dolby experiences, with a genuine curiosity for tech trends and new possibilities.
- Balance between future-focused thinking and current execution, juggling a 3-5 year perspective alongside overseeing business priorities.
The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $241,900 - $300,400 plus bonus, equity, and benefits, and can vary if outside of this location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
