Job Description
We’re seeking a Brand and Product Design leader to lead creative and innovation design across ServiceNow’s entire product portfolio. This role is part of our Product Experience team that uses empathy, understanding, and user insights to create product experiences that our customers love. This design leader will lead the centralized (Product) Design Studio team, focused on brand design, visual design, and design innovation. They’ll ensure our products are visually beautiful, delight the user, are simple to comprehend, and lead the industry with modern, innovative design. This leader will be the tastemaker of our design practice, providing creative direction and vision that up-levels our aesthetic.
They’ll lead three distinct groups as the leader of the Experience Design Studio:
- Brand Design Studio: Drive our core creative expression, including color theory, iconography, illustration, motion, and typography, partnering closely with the design leaders in marketing, to bring the ServiceNow brand to life in our product experiences.
- Visual Design Studio: Lead UI design, layout, theming (ServiceNow branded vs customer configurable, light vs dark mode, etc.), and the application of our creative strategy in close partnership with the design system and UX teams bringing system-wide creative thinking to every project.
- Design Innovation Studio: Lead visioning of future product experiences, upleveling the quality of our demos on the most daring products and pushed the boundaries on the art of the possible.

- Participate as an inspirational leader of our global Experience organization, shaping culture, building community, and providing insightful design critique on products outside of your immediate area of responsibility.
- Directly lead and manage managers and individual contributors.
- Work with your UX peers in each of our business units to ensure a unified and cohesive experience across the ServiceNow ecosystem.
- Communicate and rationalize design solutions and strategy to stakeholders.
- Review and up-level your team's work through thoughtful and inspiring feedback.
- Work closely with research, product management and engineering in UX ideation and innovation.
- Collaborate with other leaders and stakeholders to influence material change through a heavily matrixed organization.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15+ years of visual and interaction design experience and 8+ years of experience managing and developing strong design managers.
- Proven experience delivering innovative, world class design that up-levels the product and brand.
- Solid organizational experience, managing multiple teams, and a passion for developing strong, diverse managers and team members.
- Experienced storyteller and influencer who can coherently pitch internal designers and product leaders on the value of creative solutions.
- Experience building a visual design system (the express, not necessarily the components) that creates a cohesive and compelling product UI.
- Experience working in both digital product design and brand/marketing design.
- Adds diversity to the Experience leadership team through unique and differentiated experience and background.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in visual design, interaction design, human interaction sociology, psychology, or related disciplines.
- Experience with relevant design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.

For positions in the Bay Area, we offer a base pay of $227,600 - $398,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
