Job Summary:

We are looking for a VP and leader of our Marketing team who will lead their efforts across North America. The ideal candidate will bring strategic thinking across Brand, Product, Customer, and Growth marketing and will provide a roadmap to tactically implement that comprehensive strategy. They will bring a first-principles and growth mindset to the revenue organization and will be the glue that connects the product, sales and customer success functions. The VP of Marketing will build a world-class marketing function and will architect an iconic brand that spans many generations of technology and people.

*Please note that Phoenix is the preferred location for this role, but for rock star candidates, remote would be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Industry Focus: Develop a deep understanding of the automotive parts and accessories industry, including market dynamics, customer behavior, and industry trends to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy. Identify positioning strategies aligned to target markets and customer segments in order to differentiate the platform from competitors.
  • Branding and Positioning: Define and maintain a strong brand identity that resonates with the target audience. Position the platform as a market leader and highlight its unique value proposition that addresses the specific pain points and goals of the customer segments.
  • Product Marketing: Collaborate with the product team to create compelling product messaging and positioning. Develop marketing campaigns that effectively showcase the platform's features, benefits, and use cases. Partner with the sales team to develop sales enablement materials, including product collateral, case studies, and presentations
  • Thought Leadership: Establish RevolutionParts and its executives as thought leaders in the parts e-commerce industry. Encourage thought leadership, create content, participate in industry events, and leverage media opportunities to enhance brand reputation.
  • Growth Marketing: Develop and implement lead generation strategies across all relevant marketing channels to ensure penetration across all target segments. This includes designing and launching account-based marketing programs for aiding demand generation and progress opportunities, while supporting the sales team in closures.
  • Analytics and Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics to measure marketing performance, identify trends, and optimize campaigns. Leverage customer insights to drive informed marketing decisions and refine targeting strategies.
  • Automotive Community Engagement: Foster a strong presence within the automotive community by actively participating in industry events, conferences, and online communities. Establish Revolutionparts.com as a trusted resource and engage in discussions that matter to automotive professionals.
  • Customer Success: Work closely with the customer success team to develop strategies that drive customer satisfaction, improve retention rates, and promote advocacy through testimonials, case studies, and user-generated content.
  • Team Management: Lead and inspire the marketing team, fostering a collaborative and creative culture. Set clear objectives, provide guidance, and empower team members to excel in their roles by setting a culture of freedom and ownership.

Qualifications

For the Vice President of Marketing role at RevolutionParts or a similar e-commerce SaaS platform company, the qualifications required are typically a combination of education, relevant experience, and specific skills. Here are the key qualifications needed for this position:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masters degree in Marketing or Business is preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in marketing leadership roles spanning brand building, digital marketing and product marketing
  • 6+ years as a people manager and leader
  • In-depth understanding of the e-commerce landscape, SaaS business models, and the dynamics of online marketplaces
  • Familiarity with the automotive industry, particularly automotive aftermarket parts and accessories, can give a competitive edge.
  • Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic start-up environment, staying up-to-date with the latest marketing trends and innovative approaches in the industry

Branding and Positioning:

  • The ability to develop a clear marketing vision and strategy that aligns with the company's overall objectives and drives sustainable growth
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills to assess marketing performance, identify opportunities, and optimize strategies
  • A keen eye for branding and positioning to create a strong brand identity and differentiate the company from competitors
  • Demonstrated experience in building and directing a brand's reputation, both online and offline

Demand Generation & Customer Targeting:

  • Experience with customer segmentation and targeting to drive high-quality lead generation and work with sales team to drive deal velocity
  • Fluency in various digital marketing channels, including but not limited to online advertising, content marketing, SEO, social media, email and influencer marketing
  • Knowledge of marketing automation tools and platforms to streamline marketing efforts and enhance customer engagement
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills to establish full funnel measurement, diagnostic frameworks and KPI tracking

Product & Customer Marketing:

  • A customer-centric mindset, with the ability to understand customer needs, preferences, and pain points to tailor marketing strategies accordingly
  • Highly experienced in product marketing, especially working with product teams to shape GTM strategy while still directly participating in launching products
  • Experience with market research and customer insights to understand market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics

Leadership and Communication Skills:

  • Strong leadership and management skills to inspire and guide the marketing team toward achieving goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Experience building, managing, and leading high performance teams, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment

*Please note that being located in the Phoenix metropolitan area is preferred for this role and that RevolutionParts practices a hybrid work policy with 2 days in the office.
