Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP, M&A and Integration is a new role responsible for driving multiple functions/workstreams/teams toward the successful on-time completion of key M&A integration activities. The role will provide project leadership, oversight and governance and will work across all levels of the organization to help manage and coordinate cross-functional execution teams to drive M&A integration. The individual in this role will work closely with the VP, M&A, and SVP, M&A. In addition, this individual will be responsible for supporting the M&A team when not focused on integration activities, including the maintenance of pipeline reports, developing prospect profiles, drafting Management Committee and Board materials, attending and documenting M&A discussions, as well as facilitating M&A prospecting efforts. This role requires strong project and program management capabilities coupled with cross-functional team building and execution skills.

Essential Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage enterprise-wide, cross-functional M&A integration projects to realize Synchrony’s strategic initiatives
- Partner across Synchrony functions (i.e., Operations, Collections, Marketing, Risk, Finance, IT, etc.) to plan projects, secure resources, execute on plans and ultimately deliver on program objectives – working closely with the SVP, M&A and VP, M&A
- Support M&A leadership in identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities – e.g., identify targets that fit with strategy, develop investment theses, and support team in conducting diligence, financial modeling, negotiation and documentation
- Work cross-functionally to ensure effective transition from strategy to execution and to evaluate and execute on M&A opportunities
- Present to and communicate with senior leadership across a matrixed organization
- Design and lead project/program governance to include workstream/functional leaders, project/sub-project leaders, project teams, steering committees and project sponsors
- Oversee and manage the creation and execution of project plans, risks/issues assessments, and effective project change control
- Create dashboards, reporting and communications material to track progress, risks/issues, status, business decisions and integration closure
- Keep project teams, sponsors, champions and steering committees apprised of status, informed of risks/issues and engaged in initiatives
- When needed, design, and lead cross-functional workouts for the project teams to further the goals of the initiative
- Develop and manage rigorous project management and control plans, working closely with process owners, project teams, subject matter experts, project sponsors, champions and senior management to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience in Financial Services OR in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED and 9+ years of experience in Financial Services
- Experience managing cross-functional project teams
- 4+ years of Project Management experience in a cross-functional project/program from initiation through implementation, particularly managing large cross-functional projects
- 2+ years' experience in Microsoft Project/Planview or other project management software tools, utilized in a multi-functional project
- Experience managing M&A integrations; leading cross-functional integration team(s)
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be able to travel, as required (up to 20% of the time)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills: business writing, developing pitches, delivering presentations, and leading meetings
- Excellent project management, organizational and prioritization skills

Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
Eligibility Requirements
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
