Manager, Social & Influencer Strategy
Key Responsibilities & Duties
The Manager, Social & Influencer Strategy (full-time, salaried, regular) is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of MotorTrend’s social and influencer marketing efforts, including the brand-focused social channel @MotorTrendEntertainment and related programming and show channels. This role will be instrumental in developing MotorTrend’s influencer marketing programs to reach younger, more diverse audiences and help MotorTrend connect with the next generation of automotive enthusiasts on key social platforms through emerging voices. As the tip of the spear in developing MotorTrend’s voice on social and with the influencer community, you will be strengthening MotorTrend’s reputation amongst automotive experiences and expanding the automotive world through collaborations in pop culture and beyond.
Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies aligned with the MotorTrend’s goals and brand identity. Priorities include MotorTrend’s programming, brand awareness, campaigns, events, and lifestyle campaigns. Stay updated on social media trends, platforms, and best practices to drive innovation and optimize campaigns. Develop strategy and lead execution of social influencer campaigns to expand brand awareness amongst key demographics and new audiences. Identify and collaborate with relevant social media influencers to leverage reach and credibility, ensuring authenticity and transparency in partnerships. Monitor and measure the performance of influencer campaigns, tracking metrics such as impressions, engagement, conversations, brand sentiment. Create and curate compelling, high-quality content that aligns with brand guidelines for social media platforms, including written post copy, image editing, video editing, and other multimedia formats. Plan and maintain content calendars to ensure consistent and timely delivery of content across social media channels. Monitor user-generated content and engage with the audience to foster community engagement and positive brand sentiment. Develop and execute a B2B social media strategy tailored to LinkedIn, focusing on establishing the brand as a thought leader, fostering professional connections, and driving lead generation. Collaborate with key teams to align LinkedIn marketing efforts with lead generation and conversion goals, fostering a seamless transition from social media engagement to the sales pipeline. Monitor, analyze and report on social media metrics, such as impressions, video views, engagement rates, to assess social campaign effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Work collaboratively with a team of social media specialists, providing guidance, mentorship and performance feedback. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Marketing and Communications, Creative Brand Services, Partnerships, Events, Studio and Customer Care teams, to ensure cohesive brand messaging and consistent user experience. Coordinate with external agencies to leverage partnerships and amplify social media reach, collaborating on merchandise programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will have direct supervisory responsibility for the social media specialist and/or social media associate manager.
Education & Experience
Degree in marketing or related field preferred
Experience Required
4+ years experience in marketing or related field 2+ years experience managing brand or corporate specific social media accounts 1+ years managing influencer marketing programs at the brand or company-wide level
Other Qualifications
Experience to work in a fast-paced environment and change priorities quickly and effectively Basic photo and video editing skills for social content creation Experience cross-collaborating with various departments Experience managing a team and working with leadership to manage deliverables and expectations Proven ability to develop brand, PR and marketing strategies and communicate recommendations to leadership Data-driven thinking and an affinity for numbers Strong critical thinking skills partnered with a creative mind Experience in identifying target audiences and devising effective campaigns Flexible mindset and ability to jump in where needed Interpersonal skills to develop relationships with key stakeholders and external partners Experience/passion in automotive industry preferred Experience/passion in media industry preferred
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in California. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of MotorTrends total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
