As a Freelance eCommerce Marketing PR Specialist with Onda Talent, you'll be a crucial asset in amplifying the online presence and reputation of our eCommerce clients. Your expertise in crafting persuasive stories, cultivating media relationships, and implementing PR strategies will help our clients stand out in the competitive eCommerce landscape.

About The Company

Onda is a full-stack D2C growth agency that aspires to be a premier "one-stop-shop" for e-commerce business owners seeking assistance with their marketing labor and execution needs. They employ experts in various areas of marketing, including paid media, email automation, design, web management, fractional CMOs, CFOs, and more.

Onda consists of a pool of talented marketing service providers (such as designers, fractional CMOs, paid buyers, etc), that are able to take on client projects under the Onda name. Essentially, you are working as a freelancer, but under the Onda umbrella. Most of our clients are in the D2C ecomm space, and many don't have the ability/desire to bring in full-time employees, so, we assist them by providing them with freelance talent that we've vetted, approved, and trust.

In the Onda talent pool, we have professionals who take on only one project at a time and others who have upwards of 10+ projects at any given time. Onda is happy to accommodate professionals' bandwidth as the ultimate "freelance" gig but coupled with a range of support departments such as scheduling, billing, client resolution, and more to help freelancers focus on their expertise. We offer a supportive environment where you can focus on what you do best, backed by our ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic PR initiatives tailored to the goals and identity of our eCommerce clients.
  • Craft compelling press releases, media kits, and other PR materials to tell captivating brand stories and announce product launches effectively.
  • Cultivate and nurture connections with media professionals, bloggers, and influencers to secure impactful media coverage and strategic partnerships.
  • Identify and capitalize on relevant PR prospects, industry trends, and events to spotlight our clients' brands.
  • Monitor media mentions and online discussions, responding proactively to maintain a favorable brand image.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to maintain messaging consistency and align PR efforts with broader marketing strategies.
  • Gauge and report the impact of PR endeavors, offering valuable insights for continuous enhancement.

Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of formulating captivating narratives and persuasive pitches.
  • Strong understanding of PR and influencer marketing strategies and tactics

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in PR, influencer marketing, or a related field
  • Strong relationships with media outlets, influencers, and other key stakeholders in the industry
  • Proven expertise in eCommerce marketing and PR, showcasing a track record of triumphant PR campaigns and significant media placements.
  • Well-established network of media contacts in the eCommerce, retail, and related sectors.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing channels and trends, encompassing social media and influencer engagement.
  • Independent work ethic, adept project management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinker with a strategic outlook, adept at transforming product intricacies into riveting stories.

Additional Information

  • This is a 1099 independent contractor position
  • 100% remote work
  • The number of work hours is based on the number of client accounts you have at any given time
  • You have a flexible schedule, but meetings and communications with clients occur between the hours of 9 am - 5 pm EST
  • You have the freedom to set your own rate
  • You won't have to hunt for your own client leads
  • The ecosystem comes with various support functions, including scheduling, a designated billing department, and other admin functions so you can focus on what you do best
  • You will have designated email and Zoom lines for client communication
