Assistant Manager, Marketing, Collections/Collaborations/Kits - MAC

The Assistant Manager of Marketing will support with end-to-end marketing responsibilities for the Collections, Collaborations, and Kits category. Their primary focus will be the annual Holiday programs as well as various anniversary kit programs.

They will act as primary lead for many aspects of 360 program development, from concept brief development to final program delivery and performance analysis.

They will partner closely with several cross-functional teams to drive programs to completion, on time and on budget.

Strategy Development

  • Lead end-to-end marketing strategy for all anniversary kit programs – from product concepts to 360 activation planning
  • Support end-to-end marketing strategy for annual Holiday program – from product concepts to 360 activation planning
  • Partner with Consumer Insights, CRM, E-comm, and regional teams to gather relevant consumer insights to inform category and program strategies, ensuring that the consumer is at the center of MAC’s marketing efforts
  • Collaborate with product development to drive new product innovation, while also supporting core basic business products
  • Be a category expert with complete knowledge of priority competitors (positioning, catalog and recent launches), category trends and consumer preferences in priority markets
  • Work closely with Creative and Packaging team to help realize exciting and unique product designs that create desirability with consumers
  • Drive costing and pricing discussions that improve cost of goods of innovation and protect category gross margin
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Operations teams to ensure key product development and Creative milestones are met
  • Write and present briefs to 360 teams to inspire Creative concept development, and set up framework for global program activation across MAC and partner communication channels (i.e. Online, social media, PR/Influencer, etc)
  • Create regional launch toolkits, in partnership with cross-functional teams, that provide program overview, assets, and 360 activation plan to regions.
  • Support with campaign measurement and reporting process. Liaise with regions and internal teams to gather post-campaign data and assist in synthesizing into global report
  • Integrate learnings across channels to future efforts, leveraging metrics such as social media engagement, e-commerce, regions, sales, and traffic (where info is available)

Project Management

  • Set up cross-functional meetings to ensure strategies and cross-platform activity is integrated and supports a unified consumer experience across MAC and partner channels. Own meetings, set agendas, take notes and issue recap to ensure next steps are actioned
  • Set up key meetings with regions to further understanding of local objectives, needs and nuances that feed into global 360 briefs and program development.
  • Facilitate communication with Internal teams (Product Marketing, Creative Ops, Creative, Global Communications, Product Development, Education, E-commerce, Events, VM) in the development of all Consumer Marketing programs
  • Develop comprehensive list of creative assets to be created for cross-platform activation
  • Manage day to day production needs and internal processes to execute approved plans. This includes overseeing the development of relevant content, legal approval of execution, global paid media efforts and internal communication to stores/artists.
  • Manage cross-functional collaboration on global CRQ, establishing key 360 deliverables against timelines defined by Creative Ops
  • Work on ad hoc programs as projects as needed, supporting other categories and non-calendarized brand activations

Qualifications

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Demonstrated interest in brand strategy, product marketing and 360 activation/development
  • Creativity and knowledge in all areas of marketing including the ability to develop and implement innovative marketing programs, knowledge of global market/consumer/pop culture trends
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and analytically-minded
  • Excellent interpersonal skills + customer service orientation
  • Strong creative writing abilities
  • Project management skills including scheduling and timelines, budgeting, and communications
  • Excellent computer skills with priority in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $71,000 to $106,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
