What You’ll Be Doing

Having grown substantially in the last two years, we are looking for an experienced Director of Product Management with a proven ability to scale from $100M in revenue and beyond. As Director of Product Managementfor BeatStars, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving the monetization of product lines to optimize revenue across the platform and accelerate the company’s product lines. You’ll make direct contributions to achieve the company’s long-term strategy and near-term objectives through your leadership and mentoring of a product and design team, and will work closely with Engineering as well as other key stakeholders to drive the business forward.

Responsibilities:

  • In alignment with the CEO, define product roadmap and next wave of product investments to accelerate BeatStars priorities and leadership in the marketplace.
  • Translate company vision and strategy into best practices and actionable goals; ensure the design and product team has the necessary tools, skills, and talent to be successful.
  • Performs ongoing product management and development including deep dive analysis to formulate data and market driven recommendations for product, rule, rate, or underwriting changes.
  • Key contributor to enhancements of existing products and development of new products, including but not limited pricing strategies, segmentation enhancements, DOI filing implications, ISO interactions, interactions with UW rules and internal execution.
  • Hire, lead, and mentor a team of product owners and designers who can excel at creating customer-focused and intuitive design experiences for customers across our product ecosystem.
  • Ensure product requirements are delivered on time for engineering.
  • Define, track, and communicate relevant department OKRs and goals for the product team to measure performance and contribution to company goals and strategy.
  • Develop deep empathy will all creators, including recording artists and music producers; develop a deep understanding of their objectives and needs, and engage at a detailed technical level to define solutions.
  • Lead product management and business analysis.
  • Guarantee value is quickly delivered to users using lean startup methods in a product driven organization.
  • Develop strong relationships and communicate regularly with executive leadership to inform the product strategy and translate business needs into product requirements.
  • Sign off on QA test plans.
  • Monitor business, market, and technology trends to inform product strategy and proactively propose new solutions.
  • Stay up to date on the latest best practices, strategies, technologies, and industry changes relevant to product management and design.

What You’ll Need

  • Previous accountability for product and design teams at a Sr. Manager/Director level in a product strategy role for a SaaS/marketplace product.
  • Ability to effectively manage and develop multiple teams in a global and virtual environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of product management principles, product development lifecycle, and product design.
  • Deep knowledge (and continuously develop on it) about customer segmentation, user research and the craft of design.
  • Clear track record of shipping high-quality SaaS solutions across multiple markets/regions, delivering value to users and customers.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment implementing Lean tools, projects, and programs, with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial results.
  • Experience taking extreme ownership, insisting on the highest standards, having a bias for action and attracting and developing the most talented people.
  • Strong business insight and judgment and a collaborative and inclusive work style.
  • Be based in Austin, Texas.
  • Experience in a consumer technology company is a plus.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is from $200K to $250k USD yearly.
