Creative Director, Brand
Since 2011, Bespoke Post has been introducing our customers to small, under-the-radar brands and products through a cross-category e-commerce shop and monthly membership service. From clothing, to camping gear, cookware to barware– our mission is to help our customers cut through all the clutter and find quality gear from small brands that care about their craft.
We’re looking for a Creative Director to help us build awareness of our company, and make Bespoke Post a truly famous brand. You will be responsible for concepting and creating entertaining and engaging content across our site, socials, and other media, leveraging platform best practices, trends, and cultural moments. In this role, you will oversee all branded content and storytelling, as well as copy and messaging on our website, emails, printed collateral, social channels, and blog. You’ll be concepting, storyboarding, writing, editing, and managing a team of copywriters, art directors, designers, social media managers, videographers, and content creators.
You will:
- Embrace our brand strategy and core customer, consistently reinforcing our values and voice across all channels
Content & Storytelling:
- Concept, develop, and provide creative direction across all branded content and social series
- Lead the team in crafting best-in-class video content, optimized by channel, that builds our social following through engagement and reach.
- Lead our social media team in developing and maintaining an editorial calendar across channels (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X)
- Help create content to populate the above channels leveraging photography and video created by our creative team, content creator network, brand partners, and your own original content
- Help us grow our social following and engagement across key channels.
- Establish new social content series that speak to our values and earn significant attention and engagement with the brand
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop content partnerships with like minded brands and “muses” who help us reach new audiences
- Oversee all content development for “The Field Guide,” our blog
Copywriting
- Lead product copy and brand messaging across our owned and paid channels (including website, emails, blog, and print collateral)
- Partner with marketing to ensure our ad copy and social copy is effective, and aligned with the writing on our site, emails, etc
- Partner with merchandising to tell compelling narratives about our products and brands
- Develop a cool and casual tone of voice that reinforces our brand, and ensure our writing at every touchpoint is clear, concise, and consistent with that voice
- Manage assignment delegation to in-house team members and freelancers
- Understand SEO principles and optimize our product and blog pages accordingly
- Collaborate with the growth team to develop highly-effective ad-concepts and deliver scripts
The ideal candidate:
- Has 12+ years of experience in creative direction, copywriting, and content creation
- Video content expert with deep knowledge of how to craft top-performing videos, optimized by platform. Must have excellent craft skills related to storyboarding, shooting, editing, music selection, etc
- Experience writing for a consumer brand with a similar audience, and developing a brand voice
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle multiple projects at once
- Must love to sweat the details when it comes to creating great content and copy
- Has hands-on experience with Content Management Systems
- Has a desire to follow broader cultural conversations around key topic areas including outdoor lifestyle, fashion, food and drink, design, travel, and wellness
- Meticulous proofreader and editor
- Can show a portfolio of written work and complete a short writing exercise during the interview process
Bonus points for:
- Expertise with SEO principles to maximize reach to our target audience
- Experience writing for e-commerce or subscription services
Compensation, Benefits, Perks:
- Starting base salary range of $160,000-$185,000 per year
