Compensation: $27.22 to $34.02 Hourly

The expected salary range for this position is $27.22 - $34.02. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. Compassion is looking for an early-career social media specialist to maximize the engagement, growth, and overall effectiveness of Compassion International social media channels. The Specialist I will be responsible for the planning, execution, and analysis of campaigns that run across Compassion’s social media channels. The ideal candidate will exhibit the desire to super-serve our neighbors, organize and establish omni-channel strategies, drive content engagement, and leverage insights to optimize the supporter experience on social media for Compassion International.

Please note: This is a remote, full-time, temporary position from October 2023 to May 2024.

What will you do?

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Acts as an advocate for children. Understands and advances Christ's mandate to protect children. Raises awareness of the needs of children and takes active steps to help protect against neglect, abuse, and exploitation of children. Promotes the dignity, respect, positive treatment, potential of children in all circumstances. Encourages the involvement of others in helping children in need. Reports and appropriately supports responses to incidents of harm of children if they occur.
  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.
  • Coordinate efforts to deliver best-in-class, omni-channel experiences on social media; actively contributing to the long-term enhancement of Compassion’s brand and supporter experience across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, Pinterest, and more).
  • Provide on-going support to the Digital Experience (Social Media) team in the development of new campaigns and priorities in support of Compassion’s ministry goals.
  • Utilize performance metrics, journey maps, and audience insights to develop and deliver campaign-specific content strategies.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to deliver comprehensive social media plans for ministry priorities across all internal teams, including marketing, global, influencer, events, and more.
  • Monitor and report on analytics across all social media platforms to provide insights on campaigns and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Collect and report data in order to better understand and drive engagement.
  • Maintain and leverage platform-specific best practices and trends to enhance the user experience and drive algorithmic support across all social media channels.
  • Help retain the mission-true voice of Compassion on all posts, descriptions, hashtags, and campaigns on social media.
  • May provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the Digital experience discipline.
