Summary:
Avatar Studios, in collaboration with Content for Change at Paramount, is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Art Trainee to join our team. As an Art Trainee, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the iconic world of Avatar and learn from experienced artists and creators. You will assist in the creation of visually stunning character and environment designs while gaining valuable hands-on industry experience. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about the Avatar Universe, eager to learn, and ready to jumpstart their careers in the animation industry.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with your mentor to assist in the production of high-quality art and animation for Avatar Studios' projects.
- Contribute to the development of concept art, character designs, and visual assets based on the established Avatar universe.
- Follow art direction and maintain consistency with the unique visual style and storytelling of Avatar.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance the creative process.
- Research and gather reference materials to aid in the creation of art assets, ensuring authenticity and fidelity to the Avatar universe.
- Help organize and maintain art files, assets, and documentation to ensure efficient workflow and asset management.
- Learn and utilize industry-standard software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Storyboard Pro, and Blender.
- Stay updated on current animation trends, techniques, and industry developments.
- Adapt to changing project requirements and priorities while meeting deadlines.
Desired Qualities:
- A portfolio showcasing your artistic skills and creativity, with a focus on character design, environment design, or visual storytelling (traditional and/or digital mediums).
- Basic understanding of animation principles and techniques.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Photoshop, or similar art and design tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Self-motivated and open to feedback, with a willingness to learn and improve.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced animation production environment.
- A deep passion for the Avatar universe and a strong desire to contribute to its legacy is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Must be over 18 years of age to participate
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship (both during and upon completion of the program)
- Must be available to work full-time during the entirety of the program with the potential to extend beyond this timeframe

We would like to see designs that fit within the established style of the show while showcasing your unique artistic vision. Utilize our provided environment and character images as style references for your creative process.

Weekly Hiring Salary Range: $1336.0 - 1336.0.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
