Job Summary:
Blavity Inc. is seeking a Director of Marketing, Live Events to lead the charge in generating excitement, engagement and ticket sales for a portfolio of live events including: AfroTech Conference, AfroTech Executive, Blavity House Party events, and Blavity House Party Music Festival. You’ll be responsible for crafting and executing comprehensive marketing programs that captivate our audience and drive ticket sales for our events.
This person should operate from an analytical and customer-first frame of mind, marketing each experience to our target audience and tracking the success of efforts accordingly.
This person will report directly to the SVP of AfroTech & Live Events.
Responsibilities:
- Build and execute digital marketing strategy for all Blavity Inc. event products.
- Create email marketing funnels and paid media campaigns across social, newsletter and strategic ad campaigns.
- Concept and spearhead influencer programs around announcements for applicable channels and events.
- Assess our communication vehicles and marketing tactics (the digital media platforms; social media channels; and weekly newsletter) to determine member value and make recommendations for changes, if required.
- Develop schedules and manage production workflows to produce high-quality marketing materials following agreed-upon timelines
- Work with graphic designers to oversee the design and layout of materials and graphics to ensure high-quality design; a strong, consistent, professional visual identity; and alignment with brand standards
- In partnership with VP of AfroTech Brand and VP of Corporate Marketing, craft the positioning strategy for each event product.
- Create and distribute robust weekly reports on all promotion and ticket sales efforts.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- Required Experience:
- 7+ years of digital marketing experience
- Experience in Live Entertainment and festival marketing is a must
- Additional Qualifications:
- Experience creating and running consistent marketing programs that can be altered and rolled out per experience
- Entrepreneurial attitude; ongoing passion to adjust marketing strategies to stay relevant and improve performance
- A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture
Details:
- This is a fully remote role, U.S.- based role. Occasional travel may be required.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Candidates must be available to work at least 50% in alignment with the Pacific Time Zone.
- The annual salary range for this role is $125,000 - $145,000.
