Who We're Looking For
The Public Relations and Social Media Manager will be critical in helping Syniverse build connections with key business, financial and trade journalists. In addition, this role will drive connections with more of Syniverse’s customers, partners, industry influencers and analysts, and employees via social media. This position will lead a forward-thinking public relations and social media program that promotes Syniverse’s overall brand and thought leadership, including important initiatives like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I), as well as drive awareness and influence of Syniverse’s solutions portfolio. These efforts will also be aligned to support Syniverse’s demand generation team, including marketing campaigns.
The Public Relations and Social Media Manager is passionate about storytelling and brand and community building. This includes being an effective storyteller with extremely strong written communication skills. The position requires a proven track record in media relations and social media, including bringing disparate efforts together to form a cohesive, consolidated, corporate-level measurable plan. To be successful in this role, the individual will need to be able to work in partnership across functional areas of the business; creatively develop compelling written content, as well as take an editorial role; effectively manage a master editorial media and social media calendar; and execute and measure against a coordinated plan. Social media advocacy and amplification experience will be critical as we work to engage more of Syniverse’s employees as brand advocates.

Scope of the Role:
Direct Reports: This is an individual contributor role with management over processes and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitates brand/company awareness and influence through various media and social media channels.
- Directs the development of media strategy and executes. Leads Syniverse’s external media agency to ensure strategic plan delivery and adjust the plan to achieve goals.
- Directs the development and adoption of a global content-led media and social editorial calendar to convey the overall value proposition and key business themes to attain media metric goals and objectives.
- Engages with Syniverse Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather viewpoints/thought leadership perspectives to integrate into the media plans and execution of plans. Must have the ability to distill product/solution value propositions in a way that is meaningful to media.
- Leads direction and execution of objectives across the company’s social media platforms, including driving followers and engagement, including developing compelling content to support the needs of Demand Generation, in particular.
- Drives social media influencer program to build social engagement through storytelling – targeting key media and social influencers in Syniverse’s key target markets.
- Supports Syniverse SMEs in the development and buildout of their personal social media platforms and communities.
Experience, Education, And Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
- 5-7 years public relations or social media experience.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate complex business information in a clear and compelling way.
- Ability to interact with executives and subject matter experts to capture important information, but also to help drive their efforts in support of Syniverse’s media and social program.
- Strong attention to detail and process-orientation, while keeping strategic issues in mind.
- Hands-on approach, flexibility, and a willingness to deliver results in tight time frames and under pressure.
- Ability to build effective working relationships, internally and externally, at all levels.
