The Manager, Brand Public Relations (PR) is responsible for supporting the development of public relations strategies and plans that align with brand business objectives as well as connect with audience insights, key trends and product stories for all brands within the US Meals & Beverage division (including Campbell's, Campbell's Chunky, Pace, Pacific, Prego, Swanson and V8). This role will work closely with the Associate Director, Brand PR and Social Media to drive positive brand exposure and consumer engagement to influence business outcomes

The focus of this role is external brand communications, grounded primarily in our earned efforts. This role partners with all areas of the marketing team – social media, brand, creative, digital, production, eCommerce and design – to ensure our messaging is consistent and integrated into broader marketing initiatives. The responsibilities of this role include protecting our business and brand's reputations while also helping to create relevance and buzz to ultimately drive sales and win at shelf.

Brand PR will play a key part in driving relevancy and reinvigorating many of our M&B brands. This area of responsibility will span from traditional and proven earned approaches to influencer programs and product placements to innovative and never done before approaches. This role will require a strong understanding of the use of digital channels within earned media programs.

This Manager role requires a driver and resourceful self-starter who can build relationships quickly and seek out culturally relevant moments for brands to leverage.

This role reports into the Associate Directory Brand PR + Social Media, Meals & Beverage.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage earned campaign approach specific to brand awareness and buzz, earned media placements and sparking consumer engagement and action
  • Partner with brand, innovation, sales and nutrition teams to review key messages, trends and brand/product/customer stories to support via media exposure
  • Build annual content calendar to drive editorial coverage, entertainment industry exposure and events, in line with brand objectives and business needs
  • Identify key publisher & influencer list and subsequently develop and maintain strong and ongoing working relationships with each
  • Develop messaging and positioning for keys areas of the business, including in the form of press releases, media alerts and fact sheets
  • Conduct in-depth research on industry-related topics in order to develop original content
  • Integrate and connect all communication pieces to maximize effectiveness and align strategies
  • Own the media monitoring for Brands, industry/category and partner news; respond to media inquiries and route accordingly; track secured media coverage and create coverage reports and scorecards.
  • In partnership with the Associate Director, Brand PR and Social Media, own the external agency relationships.
  • Close collaboration and support to owned content team including content calendar review and input across all social channels.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Communications, Brand Communications, Media Relations, Crisis Communications and/or Social Media
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field required.

Key Skills And Abilities Desired

  • Existing relationships with consumer facing Media and/or Influencers across verticals
  • Proven ability to deliver results through effective media and influencer relations
  • Demonstrated experience in spotting and leveraging trending events and timely pop culture moments through earned and/or owned tactics.
  • Resourceful worker with significant attention to detail
  • Excellent written/verbal communications skills, including press releases, key messages, speeches and remarks, Q&A, etc.
  • Polished and influential communicator
  • Proven knowledge and track record managing consumer focused communications programs across all channels (traditional, digital and emerging)
  • Excels in rapidly evolving environments, brainstorming new concepts and identifying integration opportunities with other communications channels
  • Ability to work cross functionally, building relationships internally
  • Able to provide direction as well as work independently
  • Experience in issues, crisis and change management preferred

Location: WHQ – Camden, NJ

Travel Required: est. 20%

Compensation And Benefits

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$72,900-$117,300

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
