The Social Media Coordinator will be tasked with creating and posting trendy and engaging social media content for our corporate Brick accounts, as well as for our franchise store. The Social Media Coordinator will join our Marketing team working individually in Montreal but reporting to the Social Media and Online Community Manager in Edmonton, AB. This role is ideal for creative and dynamic team players, who possess a strong sense of urgency and have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English. Overall, this role will be responsible for supporting Brick’s social media identity and brand in Quebec.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on new or improved social media strategies that align with the company’s current business goals.
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media and communication trends and develop ways they can be incorporated into our social media strategy.
  • Create social media calendars in accordance with Brick’s content pillars to increase organic reach, engagement and attract prospective customers.
  • Write clever captions and scripts for our social channels.
  • Assist in scheduling, planning, executing, and tracking creative campaigns and contests internally and externally across various channels for both corporate and franchise accounts.
  • Assist in building a loyal community, this includes responding to follower and user comments/messages online, as well as utilizing user-generated content where possible.
  • Utilize social listening tools for insight into consumer/audience thoughts and opinions.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating Brick’s franchise social media program to create tailored content by market while remaining on brand.
  • Work closely with other Social Media Coordinator on influencer and brand ambassador campaigns.
  • Conduct in-store photo/video shoots either behind the scenes or on camera.
  • Attend internal and external events when necessary to capture promotional material for the social media platforms

Qualifications

  • Using and creating interesting content for Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok.
  • Knowledgeable in marketing through social media with the ability and passion to explore new creative strategies and employ the latest digital trends.
  • Proficient with social media management applications for scheduling & reporting (i.e., Sprout and Gain).
  • Self-sufficient and able to work both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Ability to set up boosted posts and analyze insights.
  • Fluent in both the French and English Language.
  • Exceptional writing skills with an ability to create and edit engaging content consistent with Brick’s brand/voice.
  • Highly organized with strong multitasking and task prioritization abilities as well as great attention to detail.
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of applications like; Canva, Facebook Creator Studio, Instagram Creator Studio, and basic photo editing software.
  • Elementary use of Adobe Photoshop and video editing software.
  • Comfortable with occasional on camera appearances (IG Stories, Reels and TikTok).
  • Strong understanding of Quebec culture and familiarity with trending social media content in Quebec.

Education & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on marketing, communications, or relevant workplace experience.
  • Bilingual (French and English), with excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Previous proven experience in social media content creation.
  • Experience using multiple social media platforms for the purpose of scheduling content, engaging with audiences, and tracking performance.
  • Experience with graphic design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Familiarity in retail marketing is considered an asset.
  • Photography experience is considered an asset.

Bilingualism (French, English – oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and Fre nch-speaking customers within our stores, colleagues and/or internal partners/suppliers across Canada
