About The Role
We’re looking for a seasoned social strategist who has mastered foundational strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills and can apply their craft to a variety of mediums, with a particular focus and passion for social media and social-first thinking.
As a leader for one of our iconic clients, you will lead social strategy for a variety of projects and briefs. Additionally, you will lead the integration between Social Strategy and other agency teams on these projects while maintaining close ties to brand planning & engagement teams.
As the Executive Director of Social Strategy, you have a strong understanding of how brands grow in the Social Age. You have a deep understanding of social media platforms and digital environments, a proven ability and passion for creative thinking, a laser focus on driving team outcomes, and you are expert collaborator with other strategy leads, creatives, influencer marketers, and paid media and analytics team members. Your client management and account skills are just as sharp as your social ones. You can adapt to a changing brief and be the voice in the room driving clarity and cohesion. You constantly explore what’s next in the world of brand building and push clients and your team to try new things. You can manage senior clients and junior strategists. You know who won the last Film Grand Prix at Cannes and who’s best on TikTok. You love what you do and take pride in your work. You thrive when working with creatives and with data analysts.
What You’ll Do
- Be the “go-to” thought leader and expert in driving integration between social and agency teams to deliver for the client.
- Create communications that meet client objectives in the areas of social media strategy, digital platform and campaign development, research, content amplification and analytics
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing issues thoughtfully and effectively
- Manage campaigns from concept to completion by anticipating challenges, troubleshooting problems, proposing solutions, offering client counsel, overseeing quality, and ensuring the work delivers impact and value
- Create synergies between social and other disciplines: PR & Influencer, Customer Engagement & Commerce, Data & Analytics, and Media.
- Lead innovation and implementation of key strategic frameworks in social and brand strategy with the ability to develop end-to-end solutions with social at heart.
- Oversee quality and development of creative (concept) briefs and briefings as well as asset briefs to meet modern marketing needs to drive concept to content across experience seamlessly connecting social to the full ecosystem.
- Be the key player in new briefs representing the agency and the social expertise.
What You’ll Need
- 15+ years of experience
- Proven experience in social strategy, community management and social creative management
- Proven successful collaboration with creative leaders and complex creative teams
- Proven thought-leadership in social media
- Proven track record of building and growing senior-level client relationships and business
- Management of teams of strategists, community managers, and cross-disciplinary teams
- Knows how work with media experts with focus on social media
- Deep knowledge of social media platform capabilities and specs
- Understanding of landscape with focus on social media
- Willingness to learn, explore, and reinvent
- Experience in large agency environments
- Experience with big name brands
- Ability to multitask and juggle multiple priority projects at once
- Proven experience building and scaling teams to new client need sand onboarding
- Effective written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to write and deliver persuasive presentations is critical
- Strong analytical skills. Ability to interpret ongoing research and media reports, guide and partner with social media experts to inform communications recommendations
- The mindset to anticipate changes to the social landscape and help the team adapt
