The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for creating social media content for IDSA’s social channels that highlights strategic priorities and engages professionals in ID. The Social Media Coordinator creates written social posts and multimedia (video and audio content), as well as provides the Senior Manager, Digital and Social Media with performance analytics to guide future strategy. This role is responsible for keeping up to date with best practices for each social media platform while also developing and distributing content that expands and engages IDSA’s growing social media following.
Qualifications
Characteristic Essential Responsibilities:
- Creates engaging social media content for IDSA’s social media channels (including IDWeek, the COVID-19 Real-Time Learning Network, and the IDSA Foundation) and ensures consistent branding
- Distributes daily social media schedule for review, schedules posts and assists with real-time post requests
- Monitors IDSA’s social media feeds, engages with user content that aligns with IDSA’s mission and goals
- Collaborates with marketing and communications staff to provide social media support for marketing initiatives across the organization
- Monitors social media analytics and generates reports to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies
- Stays up to date with social media best practices, informing Senior Manager of news, updates, and trends
- Assists in the development and management of collaborations and influencer marketing
- Attends in-person events, including Capitol Hill visits and IDWeek, to capture social media content
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned
Accountabilities:
- The Social Media Coordinator will ensure that social media posts are consistent with IDSA branding.
- The Social Media Coordinator will ensure that social media posts are consistent with marketing plans by remaining in constant communication and coordination with Marketing Specialists.
- The Social Media Coordinator will ensure IDSA’s social media presence is dynamic, up to date, engaging, and timely by:
- Keeping abreast of market trends.
- Keeping team informed market best practices.
- Responding to questions and comments on social media posts by staying in communication with other staff to answer questions.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred, relevant experience can be submitted
- At least 1-2 years of social media experience, preferably in an association or a member-centric organization
Competencies: Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Strong knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn among others, alongside their respective best practices.
- Proficiency in short-form video editing, including photo and video editing apps
- Experience with social media management platforms (Sprout Social a plus)
- Proficiency in graphic design software or online tools, such as Canva
- Working knowledge of Adobe Suite (Lightroom, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator)
- Ability to utilize professional and appropriate social media copy style
- Experience compiling and interpreting analytics reports to gain insight into traffic, demographics, and effectiveness
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent project management skills
- A self-starter and able to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Travel Requirements:
- Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time
