Compensation: $56,148 to $70,000 Annually

The Communications group at FISA-OPA is seeking a Content Producer. This position requires someone who is passionate about producing content and working within a small, creative communications team.

The content producer is responsible for writing, editing and posting content for all of the agency’s communication platforms:

  • Public-facing website
  • Internal intranet sites
  • Intra-agency, Citywide, and internal emails
  • PowerPoint presentations
  • Policy and executive communications
  • Newsletters and surveys
  • Agency administrative forms

Minimum Qualifications

Qualification Requirements

  • A master's degree in journalism or public relations from an accredited college; or
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in public relations, journalism or advertising; or
  • An associate degree or completion of 60 credits from an accredited college and two years of full-time satisfactory experience in public relations, journalism or advertising; or
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2" or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least 60 credits from an accredited college.

For Assignment Level II

To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements described above for Assignment Level I, at least one additional year of the full-time experience in public relations, journalism, or advertising.

Preferred Skills

  • Extremely strong writing and editing skills -Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite and PDF Form Creator -Collaborative and able to work easily and independently in a small team environment -Excellent in-person communication skills -Communicate kindly and respectfully to staff at all levels -Create a friendly and collaborative communications team environment -Ability to organize and assist in the administration of agency events -Ability to participate and present information in group meetings Candidates will be expected to provide links or a portfolio to previous content they have written and edited. During the interview, candidates will also be required to take a 15-30 minute writing and formatting test. Candidates may also include links within their resume.

However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
