About: Mythical is an Internet-first entertainment production company led by YouTube creators Rhett & Link. Its YouTube channels have amassed nearly 32 million subscribers and 9 billion views, and its combined following on Instagram, Facebook, Instagram, Snap, TikTok, and Twitter exceeds 23 million. Rhett & Link host the Internet’s most popular daily show, Good Mythical Morning, among other shows and podcasts. In 2020 they launched a new food-centric content brand called Mythical Kitchen, and in 2023, began posting new content to the original Rhett & Link channel.
Overview: The Social Media Content Creator is responsible for creating a variety of content for Mythical’s social channels including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook. This role’s primary goal is to create comedic content to grow Mythical & Mythical Kitchen’s social presence & discover new audiences by re-editing existing content to optimize distribution on various social media platforms. They will also work cross-departmentally to develop original content to promote Mythical Entertainment’s various offerings. The ideal candidate will have unparalleled knowledge and instincts for TikTok, and what content will succeed on the platform. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Social Media & Marketing, and work closely with both the Senior Director of Social Media & Marketing and Vice President of Digital Content.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conceptualize and edit 15-18 engaging pieces of short-form video content per week for the @Mythical and @MythicalKitchen accounts on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
- Identify high-impact moments from our wealth of YouTube content, and optimize them for short-form video platforms. Get creative & elevate these moments through additional graphics, text, cuts, effects, sounds, etc. Optimize each video for the intended platform by utilizing their unique tools & filters to speak to the individual audiences each platform offers.
- Master spotting upcoming & timely trends and viral moments. Always be ready to adapt these trends to resonate with our brand's lore, voice, identity, and goals using both original and existing footage.
- Use your knowledge of the social media landscape to foster a sense of community with our audience & encourage them to continue viewing & engaging with our content.
- This role will interact with all departments across the company to create content to market their individual products and projects. In addition to optimizing existing footage for social platforms.
- Pitch, develop, shoot, and edit original creative to market and promote company-wide projects, launches, and products.
- Collaborate with our eCommerce team & performance marketing partners to create content that can be integrated into our paid media strategy.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- A track record as a content creator. Please share a portfolio showcasing your history of creating successful short-form videos.
- Working experience in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Video Production, or a related field.
- An expert understanding of short-form content-based social media platforms (TikTok in particular) and their respective best practices.
- Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style for different audiences.
- A creative mind that’s overflowing with ideas
- Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Easily collaborates across teams and adapts to changing priorities.
- Excels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to both create video ideas from scratch and execute on provided direction.
- Photography skills are a plus.
