Job Overview

The Communications and Social Media Specialist role assists the Director of Communications as a part of the Communications Team at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. The perfect candidate for this role is a creative, adaptable, and digitally-savvy communicator who gets excited about and is an expert at creating and leveraging content both for and via social media channels, who excels in a high-volume work environment, and who is passionate about the movement to end sexual exploitation.

Main ResponsibilitiesAcquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the organization’s policies, principles and strategies, and to keep up-to-date with relevant developmentsAssist the Communications Team with developing and implementing creative and effective communication plans for campaigns, projects, events, and tactical effortsResponsible for planning, developing, and implementing tactics that will maximize the effectiveness and value of the organization’s social media presence and audienceManage the organization’s audience engagement, including but not limited to comment moderation and direct message response, on social media channels, with a focus on user journeysWork with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas that are in line with the company’s strategy and in support of its various brand initiativesRegularly review, research, write, create, design, and appear in myriad multimedia content pieces for the organization’s website, blog, emails, and social media channelsPlan and implement an influencer relationship program to leverage voices of supporters with large followings for strategic messagingSupport grassroots fundraising on social media, including assistance with placing digital ads as capacity allowsSupport and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the broader teamReview, analyze, and distribute social media analytics to communicate resultsStay up-to-date on the latest news and trends in social

Job RequirementsExperience and proficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteStrong and demonstrable experience as a copywriter and editorExcellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skillsStrong experience managing social media platforms at an organizational levelStrong experience with social media content planning, development, and creationBSc/BA in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or relevant field is preferredThree to five years of
