Job Overview:

The Director of Brand Experience Strategy is responsible for leading, crafting and delivering best-in-class consumer experiences that create engagement and drive advocacy for our clients. This role is responsible for providing strategic guidance on client initiatives to nurture and grow the business through social, digital, and physical consumer touchpoints.

As a strategy lead within the Brand Experience team, you will focus on building the connection between culture, brand, consumer, and category to deliver engaging brand experiences that deliver cultural resonance for our clients.

Passionate about delivering meaningful brand experiences. You understand how culture shapes consumer behaviors, habits, and expectations for brand engagement. You also know how to help brands provide real value for consumers and can build a narrative that positions the brand as the solution to their needs.

Well-rounded and an expert in social and digital connection. A great presenter and storyteller, you are someone who lives and breathes the Internet.  You don't just know your way around social & digital platforms and their capabilities – you know the trends, the conversation, and experiences that are shaping Internet culture every single day. Even more – you'll know how to use this knowledge on behalf of our clients to drive cultural resonance and earned conversation.  

Relentlessly curious. Always looking to explore and learn more so that you bring insight into the many ways audiences can experience a brand and how to inspire a team to create those compelling digital and physical experiences. Reads and thinks broadly about media, content, entertainment, and pop culture. 

Confident in their POV. Can develop a unique point of view on what the brand should do, how the brand should show up in the world, and what experiences the brand should create to engage their audience.

Poised and amiable. Can foster personal credibility and trust from the client and team, recognizing the risks worth taking and identifies the path others are willing to follow to get there. 

A visionary leader. Leadership requires not just an ability to find the big picture and drive toward it, but also to be adaptive and flexible along the way.  

Encouraging of teamwork and collaboration. Comfortable in a state of creative chaos. Different from “management,” the focus of leadership is inspiring and motivating others, and continuing to elevate the work so that the entire team reaches that vision. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the social strategy + planning and serve as a digital counsel for our clients. 
  • Develop a hypothesis-driven approach to solving issues in collaboration with account, strategy, and creative team counterparts. 
  • Partner with clients to identify marketing business opportunities, challenges and define those opportunities in a way that drives innovative solutions. 
  • Develop strategic frameworks and plans to bring "first of its kind" ideas, campaigns, and programs to life.
  • Lead social media and digital audits.
  • Tell stories via digital and physical experiences, especially with social platforms like TikTok, X, Instagram, Twitch, Facebook
  • Optimize the impact of insights to instigate new thoughts and ideas. 
  • Lead by example and foster a culture of collaboration within your team.
  • Create and develop integrated influencer campaigns, from soup to nuts. 
  • Mentor junior members of the Brand Experience Strategy team to be successful. 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience. 
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing or business. 
  • An intuitive understanding of social platforms, building communities and creating digital ecosystems.
  • A strong understanding of digital media and partnership architecture.
  • Product development + Product marketing experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the value drivers of a client’s business including the key drivers of customer acquisition, engagement, conversion, retention, loyalty, and advocacy as well as brand reach, sentiment and consumer segmentation analysis. 
  • Proven experience developing trust among a client’s leadership team and navigating it before, during and after strategic development and execution.
  • Ability to partner effectively with internal agency client and department leaders (such as analytics, media, account and creative). 
  • Confidence and credibility to hold high-level strategic discussions with senior executives internally and on the client side. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation experience, as well as thought leadership (white papers, industry trade articles, etc.).  
  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinker who is intellectually curious with a demonstrated interest in learning. 
  • Self-motivated, high-energy individual who can function in a high demand, performance-driven environment.
