Head of Communications

Your responsibilities
This position is a key corporate-level director/VP with responsibility for the external and internal, analog and digital corporate communications of the BSH Home Appliances organization within Region North America. The focus of the internal communication is on the RNA region (USA, CAN, MX), the external communication has a local focus for the respective country. This position is responsible for the strategic planning, development and implementation of the organization’s corporate communications and social media governance - in line with the global and regional communications and social media strategy and in support of advancing the mission and strategic success of the company.
Reporting to CEO RNA/MK and following the guidance of Corporate Communication (CCM) in Headquarters, the position will work with the regional Board of Directors, Operating Committee, Executive Management, Advisory Committee and Regional Leadership teams to provide strategic direction and communications consulting on matters affecting corporate and brand reputation. This position serves as a member of the Advisory Committee, Leadership Circle, Crisis Management Team and DE&I Committee.
The position is responsible for BSH corporate communications USA, Canada and Mexico, corporate media and public relations, local issue management and crisis communications, internal and change communications, public/governmental affairs, corporate social responsibility, corporate brand design and the coordination of brand communications within Region North America. Directs the efforts of the corporate communications and PR department, external PR and Social Media agency(s) and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the organization.
· Define and lead the corporate communications and public relations strategies (US, CAN, MX). Plans and oversees the activation and execution of strategies. Plans and implements local media activities. Develops and maintains positive media relations. Handles local press enquiries. Oversees and directs cross-functional media relations. Develops and manages active, integrated media relations fostering positive corporate and brand reputation.
- Leads the strategic development, implementation and management of regional internal and change communication strategies. Serves as senior communications strategist; team leader; and counselor to senior executives.
- Responsible for local (US, CAN, MX) issues and crisis management communications in alignment and following the guidance of CCM. Defines, plans and implements local crisis communications strategy. Ensures close collaboration with executive management and relevant global and local departments. Serves as company spokesperson in non-legal affairs. Handles all communication to the press and in social media during an issue management or crisis communication situation. Handles communications to the internal organization in alignment with communications strategies. Ensures alignment and follows the guidance of CCM. Acts as communications service center for regional countries (US, CAN, MX). Serves as crisis team deputy in support of the regional and local crisis strategy and response.
- Plans and directs local public affairs and corporate social responsibility strategies (US, CAN, MX). Ensures close collaboration with global corporate communications, public affairs and regional technical regulation departments to ensure alignment of positioning and messaging. Development and deployment of local position papers, statements, Q&A, standby statements and aligned key messages. Guides and coordinates public affairs and CSR at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the organization.
- Responsible for regional Social Media governance to ensure the enterprise is well coordinated and working toward a common goal. Oversees regional and local social media security protocols, social media regulatory risk and compliance, brand social media reputation management and safety, and social media issues and crisis management. Maintains oversight of social channels, reviews, and influencer/KOL/content creator relations. Ensures close collaboration with global corporate, regional and local stakeholders. Acts as social media strategist and service center for the region and local countries.
- Brand communications and social media coordinator and liaison (Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Home Connect, PCP, EDC, etc.) in order to ensure an integrated one-voice-communication.
- Plans and implements local digital strategies, local corporate website and local corporate social media strategies for BSH.
- Serves as local Social Media Officer leading corporate social initiatives and is responsible and accountable for the ongoing execution of digital and social media strategies.
- Oversees and coordinates testing agency and review house relations. Coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the organization.
- Oversees and ensures the implementation of all BSH corporate design elements within the countries in the region. Monitors corporate design applications in the region. Serves as advisor to regional countries in the use of corporate design and contributes to the corporate archive.
- Responsible for the achievement of corporate communications, social media mission, goals and financial objectives. Ensures that evaluation systems are in place related to these goals and objectives.
- Directs and supervises the company's PR and social media agencies.
- Master’s degree Preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in Corporate Communications/PR/Social Media
- Excellent listening and communication skills including presentation and writing skills
- Strong cross-functional leadership, problem solving, conflict resolution and strategic planning skills.
· Plans, directs and maintains budget for on-going corporate communications, PR and social activities. Monitors progress and evaluates performance.

Your Pay & Benefits
The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the maximum payout potential is 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
