The Role

We are looking for a temporary Director of Content Strategy for a duration of 4 months. The Director of Content Strategy will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our content strategy. During this time, your main focus will be on developing an audience-centric content strategy to support the company's commercial objectives and uphold My Code's reputation as a leading authority in the multicultural publishing sphere. You will collaborate closely with various teams and stakeholders to create compelling content opportunities that boost sales and strengthen our presence in the market.

The ideal candidate for this temporary position should have a deep knowledge of the content landscape, with a particular emphasis on creating content that resonates with our audience and nurturing brand partnerships. Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills are essential, as is a proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, multicultural publishing environment. In this temporary role, you will be instrumental in helping My Code maintain its position as a trendsetter in the publishing industry and continue to lead the market with innovative thought leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an audience-centric content strategy that supports My Code’s commercial strategy and USP, incorporating My Code’s products while strategizing for engaging brand partnership opportunities.
  • Leading original IP projects across all formats and platforms such as editorial, video, and more as it pertains to My Code distribution channels.
  • Develop a process to leverage audience data and research to drive success on content initiatives while fostering integration opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for new products in the content space that can unlock new business models.
  • Support Sales in the market with My Code’s IP content initiatives embodying our value pillars and communicating our unique value proposition effectively.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal teams and external partners to optimize the offerings.
  • Identifying opportunities for brand integrations within the various forms of media content available through the company's distribution channels.
  • Staying up to date on emerging platforms, latest industry trends, and evolving consumer behaviors across the industry.
  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with internal and external heads of content.
  • Facilitating open communication, addressing concerns, and fostering collaboration to ensure smooth execution of brand integration initiatives for IP.

Requirements

  • 7-9 years experience at a creative agency or in branded content at a media company, with a focus on digital advertising and custom content across all or some of the communities we represent.
  • Experience building programs and content for multicultural audiences.
  • Experience managing a team of creative and operational talent, as well as working with freelancers with varying availability throughout the week.
  • Client-facing experience and must feel comfortable pitching to multiple clients and being on set with clients and talent.
  • Adept at direct selling, responding to RFPs, building media plans and influencer campaigns, and leveraging resources to strategically deliver on proposals.
  • Proven track record of meeting revenue goals and producing innovative solutions for a digital audience that is constantly growing and changing.
  • An experienced digital content creator who understands how content moves in a socially-driven media environment.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently, and package and pitch new, exciting ideas on a consistent basis.
  • Candidate must be bilingual, Spanish

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $80-85 per hour. The salary and bonus structure is determined on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
