Job Summary:
Blavity Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager of Content for our Live Events business to oversee AfroTech & Blavity House Party’s social, content calendar, programs & tentpole digital campaigns. This person will oversee social media across the Live Events portfolio and will drive TikTok growth for the company.
The ideal candidate is someone who deeply understands vertical video and consumer marketing and is a strong operator, able to implement timelines, budget processes, tools, data and testing best practices in order to increase page views, reach, engagement and more. This person is a team leader who will have a fresh perspective on viral content moments and produce fresh and innovative campaigns that align with creating content for Black and diverse audiences.
This person will report directly to the VP of Brand Development of AfroTech & Live Events.
Responsibilities:
- Create, own and oversee the execution of the Live Events business (AfroTech & Blavity House Party) year-round content calendar
- Plan and execute monthly content strategy on TikTok and across Instagram, Facebook and Twitter based on engagement, performance, and branding
- Responsible for all consumer marketing efforts across our Live Events business, including organic social channels and influencer partnerships
- Oversee community engagement & management on organic social channels
- Responsible for influencer campaigns and budget for live events promotion
- Partner closely with the AD, Performance Marketing & AfroTech editorial to ensure messaging is consistent across organic and paid channels
- Work with graphic designers to oversee the design and layout of materials and graphics to ensure high-quality design; a strong, consistent, professional visual identity; and alignment with brand standards
- Own end-to-end production with strong knowledge of video editing for social platforms - pitching and producing social-first series that will elevate and expand the brand on social media
- Develop schedules and manage production workflows to produce high-quality marketing materials following agreed-upon timelines
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- Required Experience:
- 4+ years of related experience in digital or social media
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Significant experience creating marketing/digital campaigns from developing vision, to the message platform, to overseeing production on-time and on-budget
- A proven track record of years of driving sustained, organic traffic growth in competitive digital media environments
- Experience in Live Entertainment and festival marketing
- Additional Qualifications:
- Experience creating and running consistent marketing programs that can be altered and rolled out per experience
- Entrepreneurial attitude; ongoing passion to adjust marketing strategies to stay relevant and improve performance
- A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture
Details:
- This is a fully remote role, U.S.- based role. Occasional travel may be required.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Candidates must be available to work at least 50% in alignment with the Pacific Time Zone.
- The annual salary range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000.
